TBAAL's unique programs in dance, music, theatre, film, literature and visual arts attracted over 700,000 patrons in its most recent season. That's why TBAAL is a vital and vibrant "cultural arts icon" and a major Third Coast cultural institution. TBAAL's stated mission is to create and enhance an awareness and understanding of artistic, cultural, and aesthetic differences utilizing the framework of African-American Arts and Letters, and to promote, foster, cultivate, perpetuate and preserve the Arts and Letters of African-Americans in the Fine, Literary and Performing Arts.
