The Highland Park ISD Board of Trustees is composed of eight members. Elections are held every May.
The ISD Board meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 5 p.m. Meetings are held during the school year.

A superintendent is not a trustee and is therefore not a member of the board of trustees. A superintendent is an executive. The seven trustees make policy and the executive, the superintendent, carries out policy.
