Each year, Rotunda Theatre produces three plays in the Wortley-Peabody Theatre in the Rotunda and one large-scale musical in the sanctuary at First United Methodist Church. The first show was performed in the “Rotunda Theatre” in 1964 shortly after construction of the facility was completed. First Church has had a long and rich history of producing quality plays, musicals and even radio and television broadcasts. The Rotunda Theatre Series, in its current form, was organized in 1996 in celebration of the church’s Sesquicentennial and has grown steadily in popularity and patronage each year. Under the guidance of our Executive Board, the theater offers many opportunities both on stage and back stage for members and non-members who share a love of the theatre.
