Pegasus News campaign survey (March 23, 2007)

What is the one greatest thing that the Denton City Council has achieved in the past year?
The Council voted 6-1 to re-name the Civic Center Park back to its original name which was Quakertown.  It was an African American Community which was taken away from the settlers back in the 1920’s. It was a very thriving community with their own churches, barber and beauty shops, grocery stores, and their own doctor. Since the relocation they were never a close knit community but they became a neighborhood.  Since the approval from the city it started a healing process for the inclusion of all concerned.

What is the single biggest improvement that the Denton City Council needs?
In city government have equality of ethnicities in management position.

What is the toughest problem that you have ever solved?
To show the constituents in my District the importance of registering and voting in all elections whether they are municipal or Presidential.

If you are elected and can only achieve ONE quantifiable thing in your term, what would you want it to be?
25 more Black Businesses in the area.

What do you think?
