Pegasus News campaign survey (April 1, 2007)
What is the one greatest thing that the Burleson City Council has achieved in the past year?
Development of the I35W Corridor Plan will have the longest-lasting effect on the residents of our area than any other single action this Council has taken. It will guide the development of that most visible and important area of our City for years to come. If properly managed and developed, the plan will transform our City into a new and vital economic factor in the region.
What is the single biggest improvement that the Burleson City Council needs?
Our Council is capable, experienced, and highly motivated for growth in Burleson. I can bring to the Council the benefit of my three decades of experience in building the infrastructure improvements that lay the foundation for growth in the future, so that the next generations in our City can enjoy the benefit of that growth without paying the cost later.
What is the toughest problem that you have ever solved?
Starting a business from nothing more than experience, determination, and borrowed money, and building it into a successful, well-managed and highly respected force in its local industry has been my biggest challenge and the greatest accomplishment of my career.
If you are elected and can only achieve ONE quantifiable thing in your term, what would you want it to be?
I am not a single-issue candidate. Over the course of my Council career, I want to instill in the Council the basis for planning, evaluating, and bringing to fruition, in a responsible way, the growth that Burleson will experience over the term of that career. One Councilperson's achievement alone can best be described as bringing to the Council chambers the benefit of what he or she knows and has learned, and blending it into the body of knowledge on Council that will make up responsible leadership for the community. Whether that will be quantifiable in this case will be determined by the outcome.
