LaVeda says:

Hello My Name is LaVeda and there was a reporter who was at Sam Houston High School who did an interview about the schools dress code and i saw some comments about my statement if they bought it they should be able to wear it but i was answering to the question that was given and i do not like the comments that have been made about me or my name and questions like who are the parents of this kidd going around in the newspaper so i tried making an account with that website to leave a comment so these people can see the rest of what i said the reporter summarized my reason and i did say i understand why there is a dress code in place my parents have taught me good morals and values im not a bad person in life i choose to dress sophisticated these people do not realize that they are judging me but then they are saying bad things like cursing they shouldnt be cursing and i do not like my name being posted up and all i told the reporter not to she said she wouldnt and its up why is that?

Mike Orren says:

I think LaVeda hit this page because she goes to Sam Houston, which is in the AISD. And like many confuses us with "The News."

<i>Neither does LaVeda Antwine, 17, a senior at Sam Houston.

"If they bought it, they should be able to wear it," she said.

Not so, says school board trustee Gloria Pena, who sought to ban the practice of stretching earlobes, which can be permanent.

"We want to instill in them a sense of modesty and a sense of community," she said. "We're preparing them for the workforce, and in the workforce there are rules." </i>

I wish her well in her courageous support of people dressing like coked-up gypsies.

Alex Bentley says:

Rereading her comment, which was tough (LaVeda, please invest in some line breaks and punctuation -- it'll do you a world of good), it seems like LaVeda "tried making an account with that website to leave a comment," but was thwarted since the DMN apparently hates commenters. Still not sure where these people are that are making fun of her name or quote -- they're certainly not here.

LaVeda says:

"If they bought it so they should be able to wear it," never was LaVeda's statement. The reporter who asked LaVeda, The question about the clothing, Insisted She (LaVeda)should put her two cents in, but when she still refused to make a comment. The reporter asked her what was her name. LaVeda asked will it be in the paper but other kids around who saw no harm in adressing themselves to the reporter started saying everyones name the reporter said no she would list certain people as anonymous so LaVeda said kool Im not in it The reporter says what do you think about the principal banning kids who wear grillz and chains, do you think if they bought it they should be able to wear it? LaVeda said, im not in it I dont judge nobody thats up to principal &amp; whatever he decides.
