Pegasus News campaign survey (April 2, 2007)

What is the one greatest thing that the Keller ISD Board of Trustees has achieved in the past year?
During the past 12 months, the Board has updated more than 75 legal and local policies. This process allowed the Board & the Administration to work closely together creating a clear and concise foundation of governance, expectations and a direction for the future.

What is the single biggest improvement that the Keller ISD Board of Trustees needs?
A consensus must be reached on how to obtain 'accountability' without being accused of micro-management. That agreement will allow the Board, the Administration and our stakeholders to move forward, as a single entity, in setting the direction and achieving the goals of the District.

What is the toughest problem that you have ever solved?
The district's toughest problem is growth. Over the past 4 years, our enrollment has expanded by an average of 1,800 students per year. This rate of growth is projected to continue for at least 4 more years. The creation of long-term plans, in every area, to accommodate these changes allows the district to become more proactive in anticipating and resolving issues.

If you are elected and can only achieve ONE quantifiable thing in your term, what would you want it to be?
To move the district from an 'Acceptable' academic ranking to an 'Exemplary' academic ranking as defined by the Texas Education Association. The district's primary task is to provide the very best education for all children. Achieving this goal will be a major step in our quest to be one of the best districts in the Nation.
