Texas Frightmare Weekend at the Sheraton Grand in Irving: 2009
Finding Frightmare was a simple matter of following the zombies. (And trying not to run over them.)
These zombies apparently didn't care for the facilities and decided to shamble back the way they came.
Artist Andrew Mangum designed the t-shirt for this year's Texas Frightmare Weekend. He's also modeling it.
A couple of guys from Anchor Bay Entertainment with that infernal Hellraiser puzzle box. (Or facsimile thereof.)
William Forsythe, a great character actor known for sinister portrayals. (In reality, a seemingly nice guy.)
The great Barbara Steele, who creeped me out good (in a sexy way) in Black Sunday, a.k.a. La maschera del demonio.
A couple of friendly (and completely un-scary) young women representing Fort Worth's Cutting Edge haunted house.
Bodybag Photography & FX will make you up to look like you've been horrifically killed, then photograph you for posterity. And sell you the photos. (Niche market, we hope.)
Dallas resident, actor James Hampton. From F-Troop. And lots of other stuff including Teen Wolf, which qualifies him for this gig.
Josh Moreno and Dametria Green promote The Midnight Drive In, filmed mostly in and around Fort Worth.
Tyler Mane (a.k.a. Daryl Karolat) is really tall, though you can't tell it from this photo because he's sitting down. Note the fan at left, whose backpack we'll be zooming in on in the next photo.
Charlotte Kemp, who graced the pages of Playboy as their December 1982 Playmate. (Still pretty graceful, it appears.)
Megan and Emily Hagins from Austin. We interviewed filmmaker Emily a few weeks ago when she was in town for AFI Dallas.
Little Oak Film Group folks, from Houston. They were such persuasive advocates of their product that I purchased one of their DVDs. (A Sinner / His Will Be Done double feature, if you must know.) Left to right are Heather Pedoto, Whitney Andrew and Andrew Ozuna.
These enthusiastic warriors on wheels wanted everyone to know about Assassination City Roller Derby. Which I suppose could be said to involve a horrific element, if looked at in a certain way.
Says father Zane: "The family that zombies together, decomposes together." (Well, he didn't really say that, but he ought to have.)
