3/512 Burgers is a new restaurant in the Addison area of Dallas. I looked at their website and it is still under construction, so I am unsure why the restaurant is called 12 Burgers. Maybe that have 12 burgers on the menu?
12 Burgers are making burgers from fresh meat and they cut their fries fresh every day. Ok, let’s see if they can crack the code on how to make decent fries from fresh. As you know from all my reviews, it is just not that easy.
The restaurant was not very big and the layout was pretty traditional for a burger restaurant. They also had a patio for outside dining and a drive thru. You order at the counter, get a number and then wait for them to serve the burger.
I counted the burgers on the menu and they had 15 different burger. Maybe they should have called it 15 Burgers? Since this was my first time I ordered the signature “12 Burger” burger. It came with tomatoes, lettuce, jalapeno, advocate, back, cheese and mustard. I ordered my burger medium with fries and a soft drink.
The wait was 10 minutes, a bit too long considering they were not that busy. The arrangement was beautiful. The burger was served open in a basket and the fries looked very good. Just look at the pictures, don’t you agree it looks good?
The burger was cooked medium as ordered, which was good, but the burger was not as good as it looked. Don’t get me wrong, this was an above average burger, but I expected it to be much better. The meat was not having any distinct taste and the bacon was quite subtle. Everything was fresh enough and I was really hoping for a better taste. As you now, I love places that make burgers from fresh and only use fresh ingredients, but 12 Burgers just didn’t deliver the taste you would expect from all this.
The fries was not good at all. I am almost sure they only fry them once and not twice as you are supposed to. They looked good but they were almost dry inside and semi-crisp on the outside. It was a petty. My recommendation is for 12 Burger to work on the fries or buy them from frozen and just fry them according to the instructions. The fresh fries concept only work if you know how to make them nice and crispy.
12 Burgers is doing everything right except the delivery. They use fresh meats and fresh ingredients. They hand cut fries each day. The menu looks good and they have a large variety of burgers. Everything points to a great burger experience, but they fail to deliver. 12 Burgers has potential, they just need some help getting there.
I recommend 12 Burgers for their burger but not their fries. Maybe they had a bad day, but they should work on their fries right away or they will scare people off.
