I went to the Baker Street Pub tonight for the first time. I was hoping to see Chant and his band. I went to school with Chant twenty years ago and was excited to see his music career take off. The Baker St. Pub web-sight said he started at 9:00 p.m., so I showed up early with my wife and had dinner. The show board stated that he didn't start until 9:45 p.m., so we stayed and anxiously waited. At 10;00 p.m., the band hadn't showed so I asked the waitress where the band is. She told me that they just called and said they had car troubles and couldn't make it. I then talked with the manager. He told me that Chant called at 8:30 p.m. and said they couldn't make it due to car trouble. I am very upset that I arrived so early expecting to see an old school friend and wasn't notified until an hour and a half after the Baker Street Pub Staff knew he wasn't coming. I feel that I was taken advantage of for the sake of a little more money. I will let all my friends and family know that your organization is only out for the money. Your organization will not get anymore of my business, and I will pass negative PR along for you. Good Evening.

1/5We went to baker street tonight and got totally molested and pushed by the managers at this "fine establishment". We had no drinks and had even called a cab to make sure that we did not violate the law...but some jerk decided to push me...a girl and mother of 2 children out of his bar. I am not sure what I did to cause this, since I did not even have a drink. But, he must have some sexual security issues about women. Nothing was done to provoke this horrible behavior and charges are being pressed as we speek. Who does he think he is??? to push a lady???

There's an oxymoron buried somewhere in there.

1/5If you like being ripped off and bullied, then you should go to Baker Street. On several occasions I have been charged for drinks which were not mine. Last week when I was there, a couple at my table were paying cash (I wonder why) for pitchers of beer, however, the waitress put the charge of two of their pitchers on my tab as well. I suppose the watress didn't think I would notice the double charge when I closed out. I have heard other people talk of being shammed like this at Baker Street Ft. Worth. The last - and final time I frequented this place was yesterday afternoon. My disabled son and I were denied entry because, after arriving and parking my car, while walking up to the pub I disposed of two empy beer can's and a coffee container in the trash can in front and on the side walk. So, BS will deny you entry if you throw away trash from your car. Its ok, I suppose, to spend $ there and then drive away with an empty beer can or two in your car. Just don't dispose of them in front of the door guard (looks like the prisoner who played in the movie the Green Mile)! I will tell all the people I know not to spend money at this establishment - if you want to call it that.

3/5i had won a gift certificate here a while back, so my husband and i had a meal when we were in town on a saturday afternoon. my assessment? everything is average. well, maybe except the service, which was a little less satisfactory than that. for being pretty empty, it took quite a while to get noticed and seated, and get our drinks and food. the food was adequately tasty, but nothing special--sandwiches or burgers with fries, fish and chips (it's an english-style pub after all.) it was a kitschy as you would expect, but not bad--i see the kind of bands they advertise for the live music, though, and there is absolutely no way i'd step foot in here during an evening show...

3/5My husband and I decided to try this place one Sunday, and while most places are a little slower on this particular day of the week, this place barely breathed with life. We waited thirty minutes for food, and being patient people, we thought, eh, no biggie. Our waitress was pleasant, but never checked on us and we went without drinks, refills, and silverware. Of course, we could have hunted them down ourselves, but we decided to go caveman and just use our fingers. The manager who, incidentally, looks like Lurch, ambled around slowly and spotted us. He saw we had no silverware, and says "Oh." He then walked away and never returned. I had to laugh at how crappy the service was. Food was decent, but I'm glad we were there on a slow day because can you imagine what it would be like were they slammed? All in all, I say avoid the hassle and go to a place known for great service, even if you might pay a little more.

The absolute MAIN detractor to this place is the SERVICE...for whatever reason, you can very easily be completely overlooked at this place...even if it's nearly empty!
My impression: many of the "young ladies" working there have NO WORK ETHIC WHATSOEVER. That's not to say that they're all that way, but certainly the vast majority.
Many, many times these chicks have walked past me...actually smiled (so they did see me), and merely continue walking on! Remarkable!
Daddy's little girl must be working just for fun....otherwise they'd hop to it

2/5It is criminal that they can have a restaurant and still allow smoking!

Until smoking is banned inside, myself as well as others I know will not frequent this place. Even when only a few people are smoking - the air still reeks of a nasty smoke smell. The smoke residue must be caked on the walls, floors etc. If or when I ever to go again I will only go to Baker Street in the warm weather and sit outside, although, you must walk inside through the smoke to use the restroom (where Paco, the restroom butler hands you a paper towel after washing your hands - expecting a tip, which is another reason why I don't go there). The bouncer still reminds me of the prisoner in the movie the Green Mile! Yes, that's me who wrote a comment 4 yrs and 1 month ago above (mwade).
