The Ace of clubs has gone to pot.Since Buck died 12/31/07 everything has changed. On his death bed he had ask that his "people" [his many regulars] be taken care of. And, that his club remained as it was.In 4 short mths after his death EVERYTHING changed. The club he loved so much is no longer a country/western club. But, now Rock. Most of his regular customers have left the club.I had been going there for about 17 yrs. and loved the place because, everyone knew everyone, got along and felt like family.
Since Buck died it has become a "payton place" gossip among the hired help, arguing among them, pot being smoked in the bathroom and parking lot. It's just a mess of a place now.So after all these yrs. I will be moving on.I thank the great bands that have been there thru the yrs. for ur great music and wonderful entertainment.I will miss all my friend's so much as well as the awesome band "touch of country" Bubba,Dallas,Jon & Tim.And, will never forget you Buckaroo.

We all miss Buck very much. He was always very kind to me. A great friend and a great man to work for. Thanks for everything, Buck. By the way, Cyndy, thank you for the kind words. It's people like you that make our job easier. I hope we can continue to entertain you. God bless, L.P.

Bemused, I'm not quashing your free speech, although I've gotten a number of user emails begging me to do so. But this is not a free-for-all. In the same way that we didn't allow profanity from rkisok, we and our community expect everyone to keep things on topic.
And, again, never gotten a nickel from Lee Harveys.
Study the case of this user. You're on the way...
NB: As soon as I have a chance, I'll do a blog post and move all the non-Ace comments off this page and over there.

Mr. Orren, need I attain your approval to ensure that my ideas are pertinent? I wasn't aware that you had joined the Thought Police. This blog is about a bar, and the establishment you claim I have mentioned without relevance is a bar as well. Alluding to a bar in reference to another bar seems a logical connection to me. Or do you submit to an exhortation to protect a business to which you claim your publication has no financial link?
If Pegasus News applauds only those who preach to the choir, it is a blight on journalistic integrity. Change the name to Communist News. You may find a fervent audience in China.

Bemused, while rkisok's language was over the line, I had nearly removed your earlier post too. Your thoughts on Lee Harvey's are well known, and spreading them in places where they aren't relevant (like a thread on an unrelated place in Arlington) is nothing more than spam.

rkisok, although I am charmed to learn that you have expanded your asenal of indecency, I find it doleful that the staff of Pegasus News is forced to expurgate the smut that spews from the sewer of your mind. If you're going to post here, do everyone a favor and express yourself like a marginally cultured hominid. As it stands, your views would be better scrawled on the septic walls of Lee Harvey's lavatory.

I have been going to the Ace for several yrs. and I know Cyndy very well. She has never been a loud drunk out there, has many friend's there & is always friendly to everyone. I have tipped the band when I requested a song. Yet never heard it.The new guy in the band "jimmy" will do his best to do request but, johnny will either not do em or do em 2-3 sets later.I agree that Buck needs to get rid of the dead beat losers but,the dead beats aren't the customers.

Bubba Murphy & Jimmy Capps are wonderful singers.I really enjoy hearing them.Wish they would get Larry Patton, Richard Gill ,Danny Rowlett or Glenn Williams back as well. They too are great singers. And, Richard & Glenn didn't just sing they entertained the crowd.

This looks like a proper music venue. Sound is contained in an indoor facility. Long live Ace! Lee Harvey's could learn a valuable lesson.

LOL kevda...Kevin IF that's who U really are. U are too funny. And, don't have a clue as to what U are talking about. I have been going to the Ace for 16 yrs. know just about everyone there, have MANY friends there. And, am good friend's with Buck & Angel. So yes! I would be missed if I were to stop going there. And, the reason it was "pretty happening there" on 6/8/07 was because it was MY birthday party & I had a group of about 30 people there with me.As far as you calling me a "sloppy, obnoxious loud mouth drunk" You still don't have a clue as to what U are talking about. Since I have 3 COKES a nite when I'm there. And,my man DOES tip the waitress each time she comes to our table. So U need to get UR facts straight before U start foaming at the mouth. :) I would love for U to come introduce yourself to me this weekend.I would like to meet the person who THINKS he knows so much about me.

I was at the Ace of Clubs last friday night (6.8.07)and it was pretty happening. They had a good crowd and I thought the band was really good. They didn't play a bunch of old, tired-ass, crying in your beer country music. They played some Classic Rock, some upbeat Country, and even some Rhythm & Blues. I was impressed that they have three really good singers. Most bar bands don't even have one good singer. I will be going back and will be bringing friends with me. I don't really know what the lady who is posting negative comments is whinning about, but if she does stop going to the Ace of Clubs I doubt she would be missed.
Thanks,
Kevin

Ms. Millican is part of the reason some people don't come out. Nobody wants to be around a sloppy, obnoxious, loud mouth drunk. I've never had trouble getting requests played, but I don't mind tipping or buying a round now and then. She doesn't even tip the waitress or bartender. Vonie the day bartender is another problem. She stays after work, gets sloppy drunk, starts trouble, and plays heavy metal crap on the jukebox while the band is there. The best thing Buck could do is get rid of the deadbeat losers!

The Ace has become pretty dull over the past few mths. Not much of the old crowd left there & it's hard to get your song requests played. We all need to talk to Buck & see what changes can be made to improve thing's.I have been going to this bar for about 15-16 yrs. now & don't want to "move on" but like the other's before I will if thing's don't change there.

I'am a friend of Dreamer's & have been going to the Ace for about 10 yrs. Have seen alot of good bands there. But, this Clay is awful.I go there to listen to good music but, this guy is so bad even the drunker I get the better he does NOT sound.I'm ready to look for a new place if they don't bring in a good singer. They need to bring back Larry Paton or Glenn Williams.
