Atmosphere: VERY loud - we could barely hear each other at the table.

Service: Extremely slow. We tried to have different wine/mixed drinks with each course, but it took so long to get our drinks that we had to drink them between courses. The waitress tried her best, but she was limited by the bartender/kitchen.

Food: Although a large portion, Caesar salad was unremarkable - and was lacking any anchovy goodness. The prime rib was good, but the mashed potatoes were just OK. The red snapper was overcooked and tasted just like catfish to me. The sweet corn risotto with avocado oil had maybe one lone corn kernel, and instead had lots of sour cream. The huge portion of pistachio-crusted chicken wasn't crispy, crunchy, or taste like pistachios. It was tasty, but not what was described on the menu. The red-pepper cream sauce that covered the grilled veggies and entire plate was good, but there was so much it that it drowned the flavors of everything else. For dessert we tried the pecan pie, 3 sorbets and berries, and coconut cream pie. Again, pretty large servings. They were good, but nothing spectacular.

Overall: It was OK, but I wouldn't go back. There's too many other good places to go to that are similar in their food offerings.

Great steak and great atmosphere, loved the decor of the restaurant. I have been to several of Dallas' best steak restaurants and would rate this one in my top 5. Great bar also.

Al is a super host. The bar is fun and the dining room raucous. Steaks are nicely done to whatever temp you want. Order Al's Salad, it is superb. The sides are the only downfall. They're bland and tired.

I have only good things to say about Al's. We had several celebratory meals here and the food, in all aspects, was wonderful.

I've had the steak but have been told the chicken pasta is worth trying. Next time.

The bar is Dallas Establishment and a list of Who's Who. Love it.

They have fantastic steak & seafood combinations that are prepared correctly. I find it troublesome to locate a place with both skills on lock down.

On most nights you can find Al at the front door welcoming you into the restaurant. Personally, I enjoy the Chilean seabass with lobster risotto or the veal osso buco.

They carry an extensive wine list with the hard to find bottles that most restaurants do not even carry. The crowd is more experienced but that is from the price point – the young professional probably can’t afford this on a regular basis.

The surrounding area offers many options for late night – so don’t feel your night has ended because you finished dessert.
