This is one of my favorite venues in town, but you really have to know how to approach it.

First, you should really eat dinner at the cafe on the night of the show. Not only is the food good, but it's the only way to get a table and a seat. And while this is a nice, intimate venue, it's not a good place to see a show standing up, as there's almost no way to do so without blocking the table views and getting yelled at.

Show up no later than 90 minutes before showtime, and you should be "All Good" :)

Drink Lone Star, which is a buck cheaper than anything else on the menu.

Also, BRING CASH for the cover!! The way the cover works is that the owner comes around collecting with a jar shortly before showtime and then gives you a hand stamp. I don't know what happens if you don't have cash, because everyone seems to be prepared for it.

I went hear after hearing about it on Dallasfood top chicken fried steaks. I was not impressed with the chicken fried steaks but was very impressed with the sides. This is a great place to go if you miss Austin. I gave it a second chance and had breakfast. It was fantastic. Great Migas. Great atmosphere with classic music posters from many Dallas based bands and many that have been thru town. I enjoyed the flashbacks to my college days in Austin, and time well spent in Deep Ellum in the glory days.

Service can be a little slack at times, but I've always had good meals there. They try to source the veggies locally and from the Farmer's Market (so I've been told)and they are quite tasty. The CFS is great, in my opinion. BUT....they need to get the beer a little colder. The reefer case dosen't quite do the trick.

I love going here on Tuesday nights. They have a two fer Tuesday special where you can buy one entree and get the second free. It's a great deal and the food is really good. I always get the salmon which is wonderful! A friend of mine says their king ranch chicken is great. They get their vegetables at the farmer's market down the road which I love. The place is really casual and is a good place to visit with friends.

Ok, I'm smitten. I loved this place from the moment I stepped foot in it, and from then on one would be hard-pressed to find a weekend that passed since when I didn't have brunch in there with any friend I could rouse on a Saturday morning. Now that I'm not in Dallas, I miss it, but I still talk of it dreamily - the best pancakes I have ever eaten, the Empire Bakery sourdough, the chicken fried chicken that convinced me to eat white gravy (yankee that I am, it took me four years of TX living to try it.) I love the music Mike chooses - he has turned me on to many a cool band - I especially love the mo-town classics he blasts on Sundays when it's time to clear the place at 2 pm. I've never eaten anything I didn't love there, never gone in without making a new friend or running into an old one - Mike and his girls (and Taylor and Kenneth) have always gone above and beyond to make sure my friends and I had a great time, and we always do. I recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone, all the time!

There isn't a better place in Dallas to spend a lazy weekend morning. The food is just GOOD. All of it. You can't go wrong with the standard eggs, sausage, potatoes and toast. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. My wife likes the pancakes, and I usually get some because they give you way more than one person can eat.
We used to live in Deep Ellum and would walk down here every other week or so, it's just a great little spot.

I live above the place, it isnt too shabby for a cup of coffee on a weekend morning. One of those places to read the paper and just watch folks go by. Only drawback is the service from the waitstaff at times...

Been mostly for breakfast, so I can't speak for the dinner menu. But this is the best place to go for a weekend brunch. The Migas rock! The Egg Sandwich is killer, and the Pancakes (add the pecans) are one of a kind, must have the pancakes at All Good...

The service is usually a little slow, but don't go here for a quick meal, go to have a slow enjoyable meal with friends and family and make time for it, there is always a wait in the mornings.

I miss seeing the freaky instrumental improv jams from the guys in the New Bohs that used to happen every couple weeks a few years ago. I used to be one of five people in there watching them thinking that I am seeing some of the most talented musicians in Dallas right here, and nobody knows about it...

Definitely must add redundancy to the raves already posted here. Tried it this morning for the first time. It is a very special place for Dallas. Relaxed vibe, great breakfast food. Migas and Heuvos Rancheros are much recommended, but it's a place that I'm adding to my "eat-thru-the-menu" list. Looked like a nice spread of ages and backgrounds among the happy customers. The attitude of the waitress was calm, soothing, appropriate and appreciated. Maybe it's new to me, but AllGood is edging out the dream cafe as a go-to place for breakfast. Will need to try dinner and music there also.

Great place for a quiet, late lunch, when there are no crowds. Generous portions of good food, mellow atmosphere. Looking forward to going for breakfast or a live show sometime.

I can't say enough good things about the Allgood. I've never eaten anything there that wasn't fantastic. Their pancakes are phenomenal - and huge, get 'em topped with fresh fruit for a treat. The migas, sausage, gravy and biscuits are all excellent.

I love sitting in a booth on Saturday morning drinking coffee and listening to whatever Mike has on the changer. It's a perfect atmosphere, and they support the local music scene by bringing in live acts in the evenings.

Dinner's great too - my personal favorites are the Cobb Salad and the King Ranch Chicken. Also their sides are generous and tasty. They buy their produce from the local Farmer's Market - it doesn't get any fresher than that. Go on Tuesday for the Two Fer special. I've heard they just added new menu items, so I need to go back in to give something different a try!

I love this place. I love the atmosphere, the food, the people, the music. The only real drawback is that the secret's out - weekend breakfast often has a wait, but boy is it worth it!

I finally got around to trying Allgood for the first time today, and it lived up to its reputation pretty well. With Scott's review soundly in mind, I couldn't help but order the chicken fried steak. They hit the sweet spot between crispy and greasy, and though the meat was a little tough, it was a very enjoyable lunch. (And, honestly, what cube steak isn't a little tough?)

The mashed potatoes were decent though unremarkable, but I was thoroughly impressed with the squash/zucchini. You expect veggies to be overcooked at a "home cookin'" joint; not so here.

My "dining partner" (is that the professional name?) had the king ranch chicken and was surprised to be presented with a skillet rather than a plate. I can't comment on the flavor, but it certainly looked drenched in cheesy goodness. The accompanying broccoli (subbed from the standard black beans) similarly exceeded expectations.

I think maybe next time I'll skip the potatoes for more delicious veggies. In any case, a return visit is a certainty.

Oh, and a note for those requiring doting servers: this is not the place for you. You'll get what you need, but probably not quickly and definitely without any witty banter or pieces of flare. If no-frills service is your thing, all the better.

The All Good is one of my favorite places for breakfast -- the kind your favorite aunt from Austin would cook up. Like the eggs ranchero for instance. Prepped exceptionally above all breakfast-joint standards, complimented with the best buttery grits, thick and smoky bacon, and rich eye-popping coffee. I've never had a breakfast there that made me yearn for lunch. Additionally, the stereo music features a very broad and deep selection of American music. Apparently the owner's tastes runs the gamut -- much like the live music that is booked there often.

Dinner at the All Good is also quite a treat -- I can't think of one thing I've ever regretted ordering. Simply top-notch chicken fried steak, thick sandwiches, healthy salads, plump, juicy jumbo shrimp, spicy cobb salad, authentic chips & salsa, and the ONLY place in town that I know of that serves REAL, honest-to-goodness Texas chili (no beans, my yankee podnuhs!) After dinner, it's a great place to chill-out and catch some very rootsy music. I've seen only a few bands play there, but like the in-house virtual jukebox, it's everything from Americana to Zydeco. Bring cash for the modest band cover charge and, well, since it's Deep Ellum.... parking.

It's All Good from where I'm sittin'!

Best restaurant in the Central Dallas area for so many reasons: the quality and taste of the food, the Austin-style environment, the excellent music... and, of course, the coolest restauranteur in Texas (Mike Snider).

For my fellow cheese fanatics, there's nothing better than their chips 'n queso followed by a grilled cheese with green chiles. Dear Lord Baby Jesus, what a fine way to elevate the day.

I live in the neighborhood and visit this place at least once a week. I LOVE going there for breakfast. The mismatched coffee cups, the band posters everywhere, the great music playing in the background. The buy-1-get-1 tuesdays is the best way to try out things on the dinner menu. I personally like the pasta, the salmon and the meatloaf. The salads are great too.

Used to go there every Saturday morning. Now my visits are a lot less frequent but it is still and will always be one of my favorite places in Dallas. The feel is my favorite and the food is always good but breakfast is my favorite so I might be a little tainted there.
