3/5andy's is an ok place to see a show. i go to very few bar/music venues just to hang out without seeing what is playing, and andy's epitomizes that for me. i'd really only go here if there was a good draw. this is one of those places you really wouldn't want to see by the light of day. not a bad venue, but like a lot of denton places, you won't see the main act (usually a local main act) until after midnight. we just couldn't handle it last time we went--the second out of three bands was taking the stage at about 11:30. i'm too old for this!
the drinks are cheap and the crowd is young. if someone you want to see is playing here--don't show up anywhere near when doors open. the vibe in the downstairs area is ok--they've got a second bar with pool tables and seating--but they often blast the music so loud down there it's impossible to even tell that your friend is yelling anything at you. ok, it's official: i'm a grandma.
