4/5i and five others went for lunch at 11:15 on a Friday to get our burgers on. We couldn't help but compare it to our recent burger experiences: Burger House; Snuffer's; Twisted Root. Over all, the food and the vibe were superior to all of these. The fries were crispy and tasted fresh, the burgers and buns had homemade taste, and the chicken fried chicken sandwich was very crispy, hot, juicy inside and delicious.
The server was quick to get us our drinks and take our order. Every order was delivered as requested. Yay.
We were at a table where we could see our food being prepped for pick up. It was disconcerting seeing those guys scooping the fries with their bare hands and dumping them onto the plates. Lucky (?) for me i noticed that after i had eaten most of my fries. After that, i couldn't take my eyes off of them. Didn't see any of them or the servers wash their hands during the 45min we were there. Not atypical for restaurants in TX, from my experience.
When we ordered, we asked the server for separate checks, but he denied us, saying something like, "i can ring each of them up at the end." Okay, whatever.
So we get the bill [18% gratuity included b/c there were six of us]. We write down on the bill how much should be charged to each of our cards and hand them to our server. 16 minutes later, we were all settled up. i think that process could have been sped up had we been allowed separate checks.
Good thing we got there early, because there was a line of about 15 people blocking the narrow area between the occupied barstools and the full tables, waiting for somewhere to sit.
User tips:
+ Get there early [11 - 11:30] for lunch on weekdays.
+ Don't watch them manhandle the fries.
+ Be prepared to spend $12 for a burger, fries and soft drink.
+ Bring a calculator for parties greater than 5
+ No cussin'!
4/5Pretty decent beer selection, from what I recall - at least, wasn't terrible. Believe I had Stella draft.
Ordered a hot dog, which I recall being rated as best in D for a couple of prior years. Certainly was good, but I don't think it was better than the late Big D's Dogs (may it rest in peace). Will definitely be back for another, regardless.
Only docked Vibe with a 3 because they have a strange no cursing policy. Hot dogs and beer is not exactly an environment I think I'd need to watch my language in.
All in all worth your time, do eeeet.

4/5The chicken spedis (not sure I am spelling that right, even though I have been ordering it for years) and fries are one of my lunch time favorites. I moved out of downtown several years ago and still make the trek back when the yearning calls. On last visit, nothing had changed - still a fast paced lunch crowd with quick service and good food.

5/5A great burger and a Dallas treasure. Twisted Root across the street and down a bit is giving them a run for their money in terms of the best burger in the area, but the Angy Dog will always have a strong following.

4/5I loved the spice blend at the tables. Great chips, burgers and hot dogs. Service was spot on and always on the ball. The Long Island Iced Tea was pretty darn good, too.

5/5There's no contest, the best hot dogs in Dallas and I'd say the best burger too. The 'Angry Dog' itself is one of those meals that you cannot resist, even knowing that it may end up shortening your life by a couple hours, if not days. It's just too good to pass up.
I prefer the dog to the burger, but the burger is great too.

4/5Good stuff, but Chip's (on Cole Ave) still has the best burger in Dallas. Great service here, though.

4/5Great hamburgers, one of the best in town. The tuna sandwich is also very good, creamy onion mayo dreesing is a nice touch. Appetizer combo is a good deal for standard appetizer bar food.

4/5A great stop for late night comforts.
Other than the obvious options, probably the most memorable way to visit is to order the superhot wings with extra Dave's Insantiy Sauce. This will add or subtract years from your life. Either way, you won't forget it.
Service always friendly. Recent renovations mean you can actually see the games on the new tvs.
What's the deal with these Dallas smoking bylaws?

4/5Angry Dog has always been one of my favorites but the new addition of refried beans as a side dish choice in addition to fries and pasta salad just made it better. All Time Favorite Sandwich - The Natural. Monterrey Jack Cheese with Avocado and sprouts on Texas Toast. But the beef can't be beat either. The hamburger is more than I can eat. They serve a medium burger exactly the way it's supposed to be! And you have a great selection of beer!
