"Another Broken Dream"....I've lived in the White Rock area for over 20 years, and believe me the idea of a good (sic) new breakfast place opening in Casa Linda was WELCOME!! Barbec's is a bust. Cafe Lago is INTOLERABLE because of the owner. Gave it a couple of weeks before trying it...First of all, did these new owners realize they are in an area surrounded by incredible artists? When I walked in I felt that I had just entered the dining hall at C.C.Young, or Autumn Leaves....fake flower arrangements, HORRIBLE,fake, mass-produced paintings...that wall color!!??? Those NASTY coffee mugs??!! OOOHHH MYYY GAAAWWWD!! WHAT WERE THEY THINKING!!!??? I guess they're thinking 'chain restaurant', which it is, but could they not jazz up the place to keep it out of the 'retirement community decor'? (Can we think 'Buzz-Drew's'???) Can they get local art on the walls? By the time I got to the food, I was soo disheartened, that I was not so sure that even the BEST breakfast would make it better...it wasn't, and it didn't! WHAT A DISSAPOINTMENT!!! A TOTALLY DULL, UNINSPIRED PLACE! 'll eat at home.

Hi there. This is "Mrs Egg" the wife of the chef (Michael) who is co-owner of Another Broken Egg. Both Michael and Chris, (co owner) came away from managing a Starbucks. For 7 years, Michael managed and grew the Casa Linda Starbucks accross the street, so you probably know this crazy loveable guy. After years of waiting, Michael needed to move onward and upward. His history includes a culinary degree from Johnson & Wales and catering for motion picture shows, with a local stint feeding the cast and crew on Walker Texas Ranger for many years...which is how we met. The Egg is a franchise so there is a "look" that corporate is going for. So, sorry, dude, but the dried flowers won this battle, however, in counter attack, we also provide real flowers, which are changed out on a regular basis. We've asked about being able to put up local art. I don't know what the decision will ultimately be. Most of these restaurants go in resort communities and we are working with corporate to get an understanding on our unique area and the flavors that make Dallas. Much work has gone in to making the Egg comfortable and pleasing with a New Orleans twist.
Regarding the food, everything is fresh and fresh prepared, with soups being homemade, etc. Michael's two primary loves are people and food.

We love and live around the Casa Linda area and want to see it grow and this is why we chose that spot for the restaurant. My favourite items on the menu are the Crab Stack and the Veggie Benny. My drink of choice, is either the fresh squeezed grapefruit juice or a mary.

Wow - A very diplomatic response from “Mrs. Egg.” She even rated the place diplomatically. Makes me want to go there regardless of the food or décor.

It was overpriced, gross, and the service bizarre to say the least. Never again!

I had herd about this astounding establishment around the corner from myself through a friend, so i decided to take the time out to explore this new fine dining in hope to find someplace I can enjoy my food and not have to worry about drink fills or horrible soap tastes on my plate. I had entered in another broken egg on a Saturday and left with such disgust and annoyance. I had an awesome server who served me Bakezo and my friend a Hey Ricky she kept my drinks filled and all but as i was eating i noticed a horrible smell off another server which distracted me from my food and disgusted the hell out of me, this guy smelt like he had drink-en a keg of beer the night before and had no decency to shower before work the next day I could smell him so much it off-ed the smell of my awesome food, I asked the server who this young man was and she stated his name was Jason I had expected more out of this establishment for the way the scenery was but found differently as i stayed. As i was enjoying my food this guy walked up to my table loud and obnoxious stating he was the owner, I thought this was a joke, With the way he sniffled at my table it seemed like this guy was coked up or maybe had too many energy drinks. I will not be returning to this establishment for this reason but i do thank the waitress who served me with awesome service. I will be contacting the better business bureau for this establishment about this situation thank you and have a great day

I wonder about some of the negative comments posted here - did ya'll go to a different restaurant than I did? I realize that not everybody is going to like the same restaurants, but I think ciaohound has some kind of axe to grind with anyone over the age of 30. And, like any restaurant in town, some things on the menu are better than others - I don't consider that to be a "fail" for the entire place. So, you don't like the decor - I don't care about that, as long as the food is good. I have never had a bad meal at this place. I have no idea what makes the coffee mugs nasty, unless they weren't washed (which, by the way, everything was nice and clean!). I'd like to have a set of them since the design of mugs keeps my coffee nice and hot. I had no problems with the service there - they were very attentive to our table. The place is usually crowded which indicates to me that there are an awful lot of the local crowd who DO like this place. If you gave this place a low rating and vow never to return. . good! That means the rest of us will get seated sooner and we don't have to read your silly reviews on here.
