A step above most of the Thai places in the area and worth the trek whereever you may reside. Have not been disappointed by anything I tried so far.

Shoooooooot! I did not mean to start a ruckus here. DC is one of my absolute favorite reviewers and commenters here.

So let me offer a sincere and public apology. If necessary I will grovel a bit and if possible will buy DC a sake at Tei An to smooth things over.

I did send DC a note "behind the scenes," using the Pegasus provided service. That note is posted below ... I think the only thing missing is my name and a brief snippet from my original post. The note's intent, despite my klutzy writing, was to kindly, quietly and respectfully clear up any misconception and to apologize for anything _I_ said that offended.

Anyway, now i will just say it more simply: DC, I am sorry.

Not a regular at Asian Mint - fell in love with it when it opened. Use it as a special occasion thing.

Personally I thought her positioning of the place AS a safe little excursion rather than a full departure was all part of the initial business plan. Sure it comes across as a little synthetically hip, but that's Dallas. So I think dmacfar139 may be correct but not necessarily right. She seems to be staying the course as she set it out in her vision.

Always amazes the reason a good commenter severs his/her PN relationship. This is about 100x less understandable than <a href="http://www.pegasusnews.com/users/twisteddog/">twisteddog</a>'s departure.

Maybe b/c it was addressed behind the scenes? Either way, looks to like Sarah was just seeking clarity...and I'm confuzzled what the big deal is here.

Uhh seriously?....

"Hello,

The user dmacfar139 sent the following message to you via Pegasus News:

==============================

Hi DC--

Note the quote from my post ... i did bring it up directly (and nicely) to the manager.

Sorry if my post bothered you.

Best wishes,"

I don't know, Carmen Electra, but it appears I'm not the one with my V-string in a knot:

"Hi DC, Not sure what your comment is in reference to, but it offended a reader. I'm not lobbying to take off your comment. But, I do want to know what you meant. Who's being passive aggressive?

Sarah Blaskovich"

Well, I DO lobby for taking off my comment.

As a matter of fact, I lobby for taking ALL of my comments off.

So, please remove them all post haste.

Sincerely,

Your friend, reader, sometimes contributor, and imaginary agent provocateur

Hey, I have an idea, why don't you just take it out on whomever you have a problem with instead of being all passive aggressive?

Before we moved, this was a logistically sound choice with acceptable food quality. The Pad Thai is good, and I always like spring rolls and cold beer. Asian Mint became a routine dinner choice. Eventually I started to get a little tired of it, and the scores above are indicative of that as well as the fact that there are tons better Asian choices out there. Asian Mint serves principally as a halfway house for North Dallas folks craving a different food choice but with less of an appetite for adventure.

I wasn't going to review Asian Mint with this lackluster view, but Sarah's review brought up a point i have been struggling with at another restaurant, a loooong time favorite, where I have "regular" status and where i consider myself an early evangelist that helped its success. Simply put its service is going downhill, and I seem to be bearing the brunt of it ... almost being taken for granted. I said something today, and hope the trend turns around. It's both hard and sad when you break up with a favorite joint!

I find that the sushi here is pretty good, as is their pad thai. No surprise there. But after visiting this evening, we were rudely asked to leave just after finishing our dinner. Apparently there was a reservation that popped up, and though we were not finished with our drinks, "others were waiting." I was not impressed that as loyal, paying customers, I was asked to leave before I was finished with my meal. It'll be awhile before I come back.

This is the year of Thai food for me - meaning I never really ate it before and have decided to branch out. Asian mint was the best place to start - a way to ease in to a new food experience without too much pressure. The restaurant is clean and refreshing and the menu presents many options. The basil chicken and shrimp is incredible. I never thought I would say I like ground chicken but, yep, I do. The pad thai, a dish frequently ordered by my lunch buddies looks delicious but I have not quite worked up to that one yet, especially when the basil chicken and shrimp is soooo good. I plan to do so soon. It gets crowded here at lunch and sometimes takes a little too long but if you have the time, it is worth the wait.

Great mix of all types of Asian food. We opted for a few Thai dishes instead of sushi and the flavors were great! Big portions also. The Sake flight was a delight, but a tad over priced. The waitress didn't speak great English and was confused when we asked her about the Happy hour. Kind of cramped in there for the happy hour crowd, but an overall good experience.

The chicken in yellow curry is delish! And so were the three different kinds of sushi we got at our table.
<br>The food is quite authentic, and not nearly as expensive as you'd think with how cool the place looks. If you don't get the green tea ice cream, I recommend the gooey, buttery chocolate cookies. Mmmm.

Fried Vegetable Dumplings were boring. Beef Pad Kee Mow was fabulous. Coconut custard was not what I was expecting. The Green Tea Ice Cream Cake got rave reviews from around the table.

This place is great! The spring rolls are very good. The salads are good. Everything we tried we would gladly order again. It is an unexpected strip mall find. Try it out when you are in the neighborhood.

The Cashew Chicken is the best flavor with a great balance. Save room for green tea ice cream cake - there is no other in Dallas!
