1/5We've been to Barbec's twice. Once for a mediocre catfish all you can eat supper. It wasn't great but since we'd heard good things about breakfast and the place seemed cute we went back on a Saturday morning. It was packed. After a wait and much jostling we got stuck in the back addition (ugly!) in crammed together tables under hideous fluorescent lighting. At one point the waitress swung a pot full of hot coffee right up and over my husbands head, perilously close to his cheek. The service was terrible. We waited ages for the single coffee refill we got. My gravy came out cold. Everything else was tasteless. The pancakes were greasy. And worst of all - the famed beer batter biscuits have SUGAR in them. Who wants to eat a SWEET biscuit with gravy? Not me. Not ever again.

2/5Food was not that great. Service not great. I thought the restaurant seemed really dirty. Saw a cook in the back wearing rubber boots because bathrooms had plumbing problems. (didn't want the details) Butter had spinach in it (from the night before?) Ick.

3/5We decided to try Barbecs after several recommendations from friends. I would say overall the experience was average. The food was good, but nothing great, except maybe the beer battered bicuits. The service was somewhat disappointing. I realize it was crowded, but our waitress was very slow in bringing our food and check. We may go back for the biscuits, but with so many good breakfast spots around, it may be a while.

2/5Barbec's is a eastside(not related) dive thats good for hangovers.
What to expect when you go? Expect to wait in line on the weekends. The food is marginal for your typical diner. About the only thing I could suggest for breakfast is biscuits & gravy. Barbec's is known for their Beer battered biscuits, besides you can't screw that up! The wait service nothing to write home about.. especially if you go @ peak times. I personally have had some unfortunate experiences there. I like to think of it as three strikes & they're out, except I gave them 4 strikes. Its sad because its close to home :o(
Sorry, Barbec's I tried, and tried again.
