4/5if you're looking to appease a sweet tooth in denton, beth marie's should be number one on your list of dessert spots. a local landmark, this place makes their own ice cream, and boy is it sensational. the always-personable soda jerks behind the counter will let you sample any flavor to help you decide--there are so many to choose from that i usually stick to a limited variety of tried and true favorites: english toffee, mint chocolate chip, mango sorbet, and a couple of fruity sherbet flavors.
beth marie's bakes their own waffle cones, too, so they're always oh so fresh and tasty. they'll sell them to you for about 50 cents a cone, so i've often solved the "what to serve guests for dessert" problem by buying a couple pints of ice cream and 5 or 6 waffle cones. everyone will love you. believe me.
if you want to pretend you're there for lunch and sneak in a waffle cone after, beth marie's also offers lunch combos of sandwiches and chips. fun fact: this place apparently supplies the abbey inn (english pub and restaurant down the street) with guinness ice cream, a flavor that is not available at the ice cream parlor itself.
