The sushi is decent but to me this place was more about the scene than the food.

Service was poor - they tried to charge my co-worker for stuff he didn't even order.

Service is crumby but if you can look past that, the $1 sake on Thursday is well worth the hassle. The Ahi Tower was amazing. Head on over to the one on Greenville if you want better service.

The location of Blue Fish does most of its business for lunch. It's never very busy on Friday/Saturday nights.

The sushi is always fresh, but we usually order some of their sushi appetizer creations. The Ahi tower is our favorite with crab, avocado, tuna, rice and lots of snappy tobiko. Sashimi salad is also good and surprises with with pieces of baby octopus on top.

They offer 2 sake samplers - one one mainstream brands, the other from smaller producers. It's a nice way to try a variety, but they are very overpriced. In fact, all of their sake is overpriced.

The sushi chefs are plentiful, but some of them aren't very well skilled. Don't count on great coversation with them either.

Not the best sushi in town, but when it's 11 pm on Friday and everyplace else is closed....

I've eaten here for dinner on a couple of occasions, and the sushi is quite good. I wouldn't recommend it for happy hour though. The bar had looked tempting during our dinner visits, but a bar visit at happy hour led to a pretty dead scene, inattentive service, and, most disappointingly, Uptown prices in a suburban strip mall locale. If you're looking for a much better bar scene at about 60% of the price, head next door to The Keg.
