Of the spanish restaurants in Knox-Henderson, I think this is second to Hola in most every category. Service can be hit or miss, the food can be okay, not wonderful. I have an affinity for spanish tortillas and think that they are average here.
Biggest plus is patio dining in the evenings/early afternoon.

I've never been to the Travis location because, well, it's on Travis. Jumped at the chance to try the Bishop Arts version even coming from Lakewood. The place wasn't packed on Friday at 7:30, though it should have been. The food was incredible. Our server was there at just the right time, every time. I had the sangria on the rocks, my friend had the frozen and I wished I had hers. They were both great, if dangerous. Then came all those wonderful little plates. There were three of us, we picked three things each and shared. We got NOTHING that we didn't like and had plenty of food. It was all so authentic and good. Favorites were the peppers stuffed with goat cheese, and shrimp sauteed in something heavenly that included garlic. We don't normally get dessert but thought if the tapas are this good... So we tried the flan, which was small but better than average, and a flourless chocolate cake that I must have again before I die. Coffee was good, too. The food came quickly, was well presented, and the service never tapered off even as the place filled up. I liked this place so much I had to find the manager after the meal and tell him so.
The Bishop Arts Cafe Madrid is not a huge place but is very cute. Inside the colors are warm, the tables plenty large for all the stuff you'll order. Parking was a challenge - there are two complicated lots right next to it and after making a couple of passes at them we got a parallel parking space. After having been there, though, I'd walk a mile barefoot to go back.

Another night with the gay fabulous couple. Cocktails at the new place on Winnetka and on to Cafe Madrid. We know about the market price of asparagus.
Hostess apparently has neglected our reservation.
We stand nearby the screaming children. Alcohol would have helped at this point.
Seated next to the entrace, we are intermittently reminded of the ambient temperature.
The server has some reason to want to interrupt our conversation. It is random.
Plates come and go. Each are reasonable if unremarkable.
Between plates, there are passable attempts to sweep the table.
Drink orders are ignored. The bill is close, if not entirely accurate. The night moves on.
