Benefit at Capitol Pub tonight (Sunday June 14) for Jake Short - a most excellent bartender.
He broke his fool neck at House of Blues a few weeks ago, and will be recovering for quite a while.
Beer and Liquor specials, prizes, etc. Starts at 7 pm

Capitol Pub is where Uptown begins and East Dallas peters out. It's a nice place. The food is good. The service is bad. That porch is so alluring it drew me out of the Slip Inn on a recent night out with friends from out of town...but after the 3rd or 4th crisp pink button-down I was regretting it, and when the bill came I knew I'd better head back East to my end of town.

Best french fries I've had... ever. Nice patio, too.
Service has been spotty at times when I've been here but never HORRIBLE.
