I discovered Chuy's in Houston during college. Some of the Houston locations can be quite a bit louder noise wise. I didn't particularly recall that at the McKinney Ave location. The wait wasn't particularly long, about what you'd expect for anything else in the area.

The food is well prepared and overall is pretty tasty. For the most part it's your typical Tex-Mex fare. A decent bang for the buck, all things considered.

Maybe because I spent several years in Houston where Chuy's was my favorite restaurant, I have a particular affinity for this place. If you want good, relatively well priced Tex-Mex then come to Chuy's.
Some tips - ask for the creamy jalapeno sauce to use as dip for your chips. You can also get tortillas instead of chips to use with the dip. I really like this place and go at least every other month or so.

ok, this place is the tex-mex mecca with an Elvis twist! the service is good. although I have my favorite waiters I like to sit with. The management is very friendly and helpful. the Atmosphere is fun for all situations.

Now on to the menu! For starters the Queso is a must. Just a little hint add some fresca in with the queso for a slight kick!

however, they have daily specials that are pleasing to anyone's taste.

On the Menu they have what is called the Elvis fried chicken which is a chicken breast battered & fried in Lay's potato chips. if that doesn't sound good?

The burritos are HUGE. they range form bean, chicken, steak, also fajita style meat aswell. they have serveral different style of sauces to top them off.

some of the things I would suggest are:

1.Shirley Goo - which is spanish rice & fajita grilled chicken w/ Quseo drizzled on top. this served with corn/flour tortillas is a must try! kick it up a notch on weds. try this w/ boom boom sauce (I think its a green chile queso sauce?) kick it up some more with green chile rice!!!! I don't know who shirley is.. but I love her Goo!

  1. The Steak Burrito - which is a HUGE burrito stuffed with fajita grilled steak & cheese w/ your choice of sauce on top served with rice & charo beans. I like to take this to the next level and ask for Queso inside & tex-mex on top for my sauce! (I think I just gave away my Identity) shhh.. guys I don't want anyone to know who I am on here ;) its our lil secret!

  2. The Tex-Mex salad combo - which is a large dinner salad w/ your choice of a mini burrito, or chili rellano, and a couple of other options that have slipped my mind. I like to change this up a bit with a bowl of tortilla soup!

You can't go wrong here! they have plenty of other food to choose from!

(its suppose to be 1. 2. 3. instead of 1.1.2.) its a glitch oh well!

Friday Night Films with AFI Dallas "If you build it, they will come" ... could've described Ray Nasher's vision for NorthPark and his sculpture center, or Lenier Temerlin and Michael Cain's desire to start a local AFI festival. The two team up for an all-American screening of Field of Dreams in the Dallas Arts District. Or there's always fireworks. More info
