I TOTALLY would have written up this piece on the SMOKE opening and how awesomely killah this pink bikini in the closet is, but I cannot since it isn't listed. Oh well:

I had high hopes for this place but overall was unimpressed. Tried the Chipoltle BBQ tacos and when they got to my table they were in a pool of grease. The taste was more sweet than spicy as advertised by waitress. The bean of the day being black bean lacked salt had a strange flavor. Others that came with me were in the same boat. We really wanted to like it maybe it was an off night?

I love the Cliff Cafe in Oak Cliff. Their breakfast is wonderful. (so is their lunch) My in-laws liked it, and that is really saying something. =) The Cliff Cafe is part of the Belmont Hotel, which was originally designed by Charles Dilbeck. It sits up on a hill. The hotel has been remodeled and it's fabulous. The hotel also has a patio off the bar that has the most beautiful view of downtown Dallas. The Cliff Cafe is home-cookin', but with an updated, nice twist. Check out their website to see the menu. I highly recommend this place. (but as the other poster said, it's kind of loud at breakfast)

The brunch menu is great. Dinner can be a little pricey and the atmosphere loud on a Sunday. While I generally like Cliff Cafe, I have experience slow service on recent visits.

We loved it. The Cajun crawfish cakes were just delicious and innovative, and, in passing, I have to say I had the best chocolate milk shake I have ever had. So I think we can safely say the menu is diverse.
