Took the wife here recently, for the second time, and had another generally enjoyable experience. Not the greatest sushi we've ever had, but the quality is certainly high and they do offer a number of fairly inventive rolls, suiting a variety of tastes, including several signature rolls with an extra-spicy kick. Among the sashimi that we found to be excellent were salmon and cajun tuna. The combination tempura dish (shrimp and vegetables) was very delicately battered and nicely prepared, for a crispy but not-too-heavy crunch. The spider roll, a staple we always order from any sushi joint, could have used more soft-shell crab, but otherwise was satisfying. The vibe is the biggest flaw. Besides the restaurant's location in a strip center, the ambience isn't helped by the large-screen TV over the bar showing non-stop sports (though some might not mind), and I also find the flashing, multi-colored lights displayed underneath the sashimi serving dish a bit odd. Is this purposeful or accidental kitsch? Hard to say. Service was efficient but unremarkable, and the price seemed reasonable given the quality of the fish. Next time we'll branch out to try more of the cooked fare, so we can offer better insights.
