We ate at Cyclone Anaya's Mexican Kitchen in Addison on Sunday (11/09/08) around 1:30PM, and though the food was outstanding and our server (the bartender) tried, the service was terrible. The poor guy was so far in the weeds he couldn't see his feet. There were no less than 7 servers standing around with their thumbs up their butts, or strolling through the restaurant looking at the ceiling, empty-handed (a Cardinal sin in restaurants) and there was not a manager in sight. We would have liked to drink more but we couldn't get served. Two times, I left my bar table and just walked up to the bar to order and retrieve my drinks. Again THIS WAS NOT THE BARTENDERS FAULT. Having read the reviews about the other location, I sincerely hope that this store gets its act together. The managers really need to at least pretend to be present and not hide all afternoon.

The location on Belt Line in Addison/N. Dallas is now open as well.
They spared no expense in the decoration of the place. The prices, for Tex-Mex, are quite high - tacos al carbon for $17.50, for example - but the quality is high to match.
Great people watching on the patio at the Oak Lawn location.

This place is a MUST if you like Tex-Mex! Every visit has been worth talking about because everything from the service to the food to the ambiance is wonderful. Call me simple, but one of the main things for me is the taco meat: no fillers! Just meat and seasoning ... that's the way it should be. I do have a problem with the alcoholic drink prices, but I usually have tea with a meal, so that's not a big consideration for me. Go! Take friends! Have a blast and a great meal! Oh, and the wait staff is quite easy to look at, too!

Mi Cocina should be worried...a little. Their normal Friday night crowd has a great new option.
Cyclone Anaya's was a packed house on Friday night. Great mix of patrons out to have a good time, primarily denizens from the immediate Oak Lawn area.
When mgmt said "high seven figures" to design this place, they weren't lying. In addition to walls of glass facing the patio and Oak Lawn, there are walls of tile, leather panels, carved wood, stainless steel, stone. You need to sit at the bar for a good 30 minutes just to take it all in. Overall, it felt like a slightly higher end, mexican version of The Porch.
The margaritas are as good and strong as anywhere in town. The El Don - silver tequila, cointreau and lime juice - is not only delicious and low carb, but relatively hangover free. My wife cannot say the same about the house Cyclone margarita.(re: master bath at 2am) Chips, salsa, guacamole and fish tacos are delish. The roasted chicken relleno was tasty, but could have used a few more degrees.
Highly recommended that you go get to know El Don - or the 20+ other margs - soon!
