Down on Akard street, where the Dart Rail line is , I happend to wander up to the Central line where the finish is about to take place on the last of the old intersections, where the rails converge, and after last weeks rains, I happend on an old African American site, of two old 19th century prives, exsposed by the recent rains and construction and realizing the depth and age of this old site, while a pile of discarded and sleeping oyster shells came to my vison discarded along with some old english pottery and china... and square head nails, the last of the old Central and African Amercain community dating back to the 1880s...such was dallas then along the once railroad line, when steam and smoke came on by, while today it is a diffrent kind of track, and yet close to the same line..... while down on old Akard street, is when Dallas was really Dallas on up to the 1960s, will Dallas ever come back or will rails make a new impact, wait and see, until then Alexander Troup Urban Archaeologist and Historian.
