Delaney Vineyards is celebrating more than twenty years in the wine business. Jerry Delaney remains founder and sole owner of two operational vineyards and production wineries in the state of Texas. The winery is located in Grapevine, Texas and the main vineyard is in Lamesa Texas, a small town 60 miles south of Lubbock.
The Grapevine winery was completed in 1996, three years after the vineyard was planted. The first bottling production was summer of 1997. The Grapevine facility contains 10 lush acres of Cynthiana grapes. The Cynthiana grape remains the best southern-bred hybrid vine to grow in the Dallas-Fort Worth area for a number of reasons. It thrives in the hard clay soil, or "red rock," found in the area. It also responds well to high humidity and hot summers.
The Lamesa facility, located in West Texas is twenty-one-years-old and is the larger of the two vineyards, with more than 100 acres. The west Texas region provides a wonderful environment for grape production with its hot days and cool evenings. The Lamesa vineyard grows the bulk of the vineyard's varietal grapes, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, Petit Verdot, Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Franc.

Just a correction - the Blessing of the Vines will take place OUTSIDE at Delaney Vineyards at 11 AM on April 19th, (not 10 as shown). The Wine Trail is from Noon to 5 PM at all Grapevine wineries - except at Delaney Vineyards, where we need to close at 4 PM for a private event.
