4/5My $17-ish fried seafood platter was absolutely perfectly decious dreamy.
The large leaf cabbage rough slaw struck me as weird and clumsy to eat. But that fried seafood platter was so perfectly fried that if I had squeezed each piece of (fried) stuffed shrimp, crawfish, oysters and fish, there would maybe be a dram of oil that emerged. The tartar sauce, heavenly. Bread delicious. Lower Greenville's caldron of joy.

3/5Dodie's has a friendly staff. The Cajun Tamales were good, althought I'm not sure why they were called tamales when they were stuffed jalapenos. The snow crab legs were good, the soft shell crab however had too much breading and I couldn't taste any of the crab, just fried breading and oil. Avoid the beinville sauce.

3/5The salad before was unusual, but really good-- a crisp variety of lettuce and cabbage with dressing something like vinaigrette, but with a real kick.
My red beans and rice was pretty good, but not great. A bit expensive.
Bread pudding was the high point-- I thought it was quite good; my lunch partner said "almost as good as Fishmonger's, which is his favorite.
I thought the atmosphere was pretty good and the service quite good.

4/5Tucked up in Greenville, next to Big Wang Chinese Whatever is our friend Dodie's.
Sports bar / New Orleans theme fits with the general disarray of the space. Somehow, though, patio comes off as somewhat antiseptic.
The menu wanders through the south, with good dishes along the way including a repeat offender in the monica.
Drinks are standard Bud level.
Somehow, though it seems that more money gets spent here than necessary. I'm not sure how "Po'Boy" sandwiches ended up costing almost $10.
Waitstaff friendly and never in a hurry to have us leave. Worth a visit.
