'Cos I know we'll get questions from our dining-review skeptics:

Yes-- These two reviews came from the same IP address, but based on email addys, they are clearly two different people from the same office, who presumably were at the same lunch today.

Also, the second comment was mis-posted on another restaurant, and we moved it over here.

I have just witnessed the single most appalling display of customer service ineptitude. My fellow coworkers and I went to Dunstons for lunch. Most of ordered the steak, however two opted for the grilled chicken. Both found the chicken’s taste to be “off” and possibly spoiled. One opted to send it back to get something else. She called for the waitress and told her she did not like the chicken. The waitress seemed to take this reaction personally and informed my coworker that there was nothing wrong with the chicken. She sent over the cook who had a similar reaction stating there was nothing wrong with the chicken. The cook stormed off and then the owner Judy Dunston came to the table. When my coworker calmly stated again that she did not like the chicken, Mrs. Dunston then berated my coworker stating “there is nothing wrong with our chicken.” “Many people have ordered the chicken today” and she invited my coworker to see the computer to view that for herself. She also asked “Why did you order the chicken” and stated “I’ve already lost money on you”. Mrs. Dunston did not offer her another meal; she left the table and did not return. My fellow coworkers and I were astounded at this display of utter disrespect and from a “service” industry no less!

After most of us left, my coworker stayed behind to speak again to the owner. I am told that Mrs. Dunston continued to stand by her chicken stating again that “there is nothing wrong with the chicken”; “you wasted a perfectly good meal.” When my coworker continued to stand her ground, Mrs. Dunston then stated “You are about to pi$$ off Judy Dunston!”

Needless to say we will go back there again. However I feel compelled to share this experience with others lest anyone else incur the wrath of “Judy Dunston” over a piece of chicken.

I am lucky enough to work for a company that takes us out to eat for lunch on occasion. Today we were being treated to steaks at Dunston’s Steakhouse, and not for the first time. Two co-workers ordered chicken, both of which said it tasted funny, like it was spoiled. One of them tried to send it back and get something edible. Well the server huffed about it and said she’d have to get the manager. The manager, who happened to be the owner Judy Dunston herself, came over with an attitude that I have never witnessed in any service oriented establishment in my life! She was beyond rude, repeatedly saying that there was “Nothing wrong with the chicken!” and “Why did you order it then?!” When she asked if she could just have something else Judy threw a fit about how she was “Already losing money” on her!! Dunston’s lost more then the cost of a chicken breast today! Our table of ten most likely would have ordered dessert, and even returned again. After today, we will not ever be going back there for our company lunches! We were all so flabbergasted by Judy’s antics that we will all be passing around the word not to eat there to our family, friends, and YOU!
