Eastfield College serves the southeastern corner of Dallas County and the eastern corner of Rockwall County, providing accessible and affordable educational opportunities since opening its doors in 1970. As the second of seven Dallas County Community Colleges, Eastfield provides a full range of academic transfer programs to approximately 10,000 students each semester. The college offers associate degrees in arts and sciences that meet freshman and sophomore course requirements for a bachelor’s degree at four-year universities. Career programs in technical and service fields complete the core of extensive, quality instruction offered. In addition, several thousand students annually participate in rewarding, extensive workforce/continuing education sources for students of all ages.
Eastfield College provides educational opportunities through high-quality instruction, services, and programs in an environment conducive to student success in an academic, technical, occupational and continuing education instruction. Career specialists work with students on career exploration, job placement referrals, job searching skills, resume writing, and interviewing skills.
Eastfield now offers Weekend College as an alternative for those unable to attend college during a traditional time frame, either because of work or family conflicts. Weekend College provides the opportunity to complete an associate degree with a variety of schedule options on Friday evenings, Saturday mornings, Saturday afternoons, Sunday afternoons, or any combination without interrupting the work week.
In keeping with the interest to serve those in the surrounding community, Eastfield invites the public to attend appearances by national performers and speakers. Student Programs and Resources plans approximately six events per year ranging from dance troupes, musicals, comedians, and even face readers. Eastfield annually hosts Senior Fest the second Saturday in August, which showcases exhibitors and special workshops geared toward senior adults.
