West Fest Polka Festival Westfest kicks off the weekend Friday evening with the Miss Westfest Contest. Gates to the fairground (in West, Texas, south on I-35 just beyond Hillsboro) open at 5:30 p.m., and you can hang out touring the food booths until the 12:30 a.m. closing. If there was ever a place to do your "wurst," this is it. And don't forget kolaches for dessert. More info

Average....huh?? El Fenix is a Dallas tradition and wrote the book on TexMex! Newbies and darlings like Mi Cocina and Canita Laredo owe a HUGE debt to El Fenix....it's tha' real deal!

this El Fenix, is just like any other El Fenix. the food is your average Mexican food. The service is good especialy if you get seated in Francisco's section! (a Wayne Newton look a like)Honestly this guy is a great server.
The beef fajita nachos surprisingly are better then most. Plus their new line of salads are nice for change. El fenix is a place where you can go when you want Mexican food in a hurry.
