Golden Corral sometimes gets a bad reputation for having quantity over quality, and many of the items at this restaurant should be avoided. If you are quite hungry and have a big appitite, you can get a decent meal here if a few easy steps are followed:

  1. Go when the place is busy. Most of the items are pretty good when they are fresh. If you go during peak items, more of the items are fresh.

  2. Sit close to the serving area, and watch. Go for items that are fresh out of the kitchen.

  3. Try the rolls. . . Yes I know you don't get you money's worth if you fill up on bread, but they do make excellent rolls.

  4. Avoid the fried chicken. It is heavily breaded and bland. The chicken strips are also heavily breaded, but have better flavor.

  5. Save room for dessert. It seems that baked goods are a specialty here.
