5/5Anyone who grew up in the real Texas knows instantly that this is true Tex-Mex; a style originating in San Antonio after World War 2. It is real, reasonable, sometimes greasy and always delcious. It is one of my Dallas native recommendations, and only one of three places I, a 7th generation Texan, go to for Texas/Mexican traditional. That's saying something. Try the guacamole with pico de gallo, great sour cream enchiladas (chicken) and true chilli con carne cheese entries. A time-stood-still classic. Be still my heart.

5/5This is one of my favorite tex-mex in Dallas, or anywhere! It has always been a dive, and the service sometimes isn't great, but who cares when the food is so delisssss!!!! Me & my family have been going to Herrera's for about 20 years. The location off of Denton drive is the best, but the other locations are really good too!!

4/5I've been coming to Herrera's for my tex-mex fix since 1980, can't be beat. Love the flour tortillas and the bean soup. All the platters are tops, but 2b or 5 are my all time favorites. The hot sauce has jus the right amout of kick, kinda like the kick of a 20 year old nuclear powered mule. It will get your attention. Gotta love it. The swirl margaritas always help make the food go down the gullet so nice. The food have just the right amout of grease which I love, but a cardiologist would get a little peeved about it, but who cares when the food is this great.

5/5Been eating at the Denton Dr location since 1979. It has always tasted the same, the best. We moved out of state 20 years ago and I hate to admit it but we have grabbed a SWA jet and flown to Dallas many times just to eat here. The salsa is the best ever, so is everything else.

2/5It is not on Maple anymore, (just off Maple)and the prices have gone up. I went last Friday night and it was not busy at all. The food has gone down in quality, almost like a Mexican TV dinner. The Margaritas were a mix, and were green. I don't mean lime green from limes, but green close to Appletini color I am not even sure their was any Tequila in the drink. I could not taste it. I don't care if the prices had increased if it had been worth it, but it was not. When on a Friday night there is only about 10 cars in the parking lot, that tells you something. People are finding out how bad it has become. Taco Bueno would have been a better choice.

2/5The fajitas were really good along with the service. I went in at lunch, had combo (chicken/beef) fajitas and my bill comes out to be $21.43!!! Are you kidding me? I had them keep the sour cream, lettuce, pico and ask for a side of cheese and they charge me $2.00? Unbelievable!!!! I can't afford to go back for fajitas there any time soon. Too many others places offer a much better price at lunch time.
