While we're attention-whoring...

One of these Charlies is married to the lady who owns and operates <a href="http://www.headrushsalon.net/">Headrush</a>, a salon which recently relocated from just south of downtown to Hickory &amp; Carroll (a bit east of Carroll, right next to the gas station on the corner).

Kristi (owner of Headrush) cut my hair for almost the entirety of my attendance at UNT (even had student pricing). For awhile, I made the drive up to Denton to get my ears lowered after I graduated so I could catch up with her and get some grub at my college hang-outs.

Most unfortunately, gas prices and time to drive from Dallas to Denton have made my visits less frequent, but I very much encourage peeps in the area to stop by.

Anyways, what I'm getting at is that I checked out II Charlies soon after they opened b/c Kristi mentioned hubby's grand opening (I believe he also owns &amp; operates <a href="http://www.pegasusnews.com/places/loophole-pub/#search">The Loophole</a>, at least he used to). I vouch that II Charlies a pretty awesome spot - dunno about best pizza ever and all that mess, but certainly worth stopping in for a bite and a beer.

Charlies is my home away from home. The atmosphere is great and I never leave there unhappy. Thanks to the fabulous staff and owners :). It's absolutely one of the very best bar/restaurants I have ever been into. I can't think of one week over the past 3 months that I haven't been there at least once. And I agree with the pizza comment...it's the best pizza ever.

The food is absolutely fantastic and there is something for everyone, including vegetarians! The owners are so sweet and wonderful and the service is outstanding. Everyone that works there is happy and attentive. I've never posted a comment for a restaurant before, but deemed it necessary for my new favorite restaurant and bar in Denton. Also, the patio is wonderful.

At long last there is finally an Upscale Bar &amp; Grill in Denton!! The food is fantastic; moreover, it is decently priced. The staff is knowledgeable, proficient and Extremely Friendly. Overall we had a wonderful experience and we will definitely return.

As far as the previous posts about smoking go, as non-smokers we did not find it a problem. In fact I challenge the aforementioned posters to find one Bar &amp; Grill in Denton that is non-smoking....I assure you there is not one to be found. If you have a problem with smoking stop being so lackadaisical and take it up with the city.

2 Charlie's food is great, and the cleanliness is by far the best you can find in town, especially for a full service bar. For the price and the environment, they rate at one of the best in town, keep it up.

Great potential ... it's nicely decorated and has a great menu! Downstairs needs to be designated "no smoking" - the smoke made it an unpleasant experience.

2 Charlies rocks, Denton has needed an upscale bar forever. The food is amazing for the price, Ive paid 3x as much for less at nice restaurants here in town. A great place to watch games or just chill with friends. Keep up the great vibe Chucks!

Good food, great drink selection (Shiner Black Lager on tap!! How great!!), but there are two overwhelming problems that make going to II Charlies less than pleasant. They don't have enough staff to handle a happy hour (one bartender and one cook to do everything downstairs). And worst of all, unless an ashtray is your idea of a great place to be, stay away. A mere half dozen smokers scattered around upstairs and down make the place toxic and unappetizing. Too bad--it has great potential.
