One of my very favorite restaurants. I love the setting, in the old house. The menu changes often, and is prix fixe. Its a bargain though for the quality and quantity of food. I've never had a bad meal here. The wine list is fantastic too, huge and reasonably priced with a tiny markup. If you want a great choice for a special occasion, Lolas is the place.

Great wine list, interesting assortment of dishes. But it smelled really musty. Like being in your grandmother's house where she lived for 50 years with the same carpeting and furniture. Maybe it is the old house location.

p-guru ... the noise is bad luck and i've had that happen a couple of times. Once on a business dinner when we really needed to be able to talk. Its not really the restuarant's fault although some locales and interior arrangements can exacerbate the noise. I can see that happening at Lola's.

My wife and I had dinner at the Tasting Room at Lola recently to celebrate a special occasion.

The evening was wonderful until about halfway through dinner when a party of eight was seated at the table next to us. Unfortunately, the members of this party were very loud and appeared to be quite intoxicated.

More unfortunately, in spite of their yelling and loud laughter across the table, which drew the attention of several people, including the waitstaff, nothing was done except to pour them more wine.

My wife and I asked our waiter to bring us our check before we had finished our dinner since we were unable to talk to each other with their yelling. Frankly, we wanted to get out of Lola The Restaurant just as fast as we could. As we left, one of the waiters shrugged his shoulders and said feebly, “Sorry . . . not our fault . . . nothing we can do.”

Our experience with The Tasting Room at Lola was certainly not the “elegant and intimate dining experience” promised on the web site. The food was marvelous. The waiters’ service to us before the arrival of the drunken louts was most gracious.

But we will remember our dinner at Lola as one of the most unpleasant dining experiences we have ever had.

We have been here twice - once a while back before the Tasting Room opened and once in the Tasting Room.

For a special night out you can't beat the tasting room set menu. The service is excellent, though the room can seem a bit stuffy. The little plates go a long way, had an excellent asparagus soup and did the wine pairing too.

Highly recommend it.

This place is a food gem, a wine gem, and should be solidly booked year round. You have missed out by not dining here! Food like this for a prix fixe menu of four courses for $49.00 is a steal! All I can say is go, go now, don't wait your palate and wallet will thank you!
