5/5Now that i am in Dallas, one thing I really miss is Moni's. Amy and her staff are really great. Love the Cappelinni Broccoli, the odd days they have the excellent Osso Bussco. It is insanely cheap, especially when you can bring your own wine or beer. Occasionally I'll find myself over in the big A, and I treat myself to a lunch or dinner there. For italian, as good as it comes.

4/5Once upon a time I lived just down the street from Moni's. I passed by a thousand times without noticing it, until one day a former coworker who grew up in Arlington told me that her family ate at Moni's regularly. We gave it a try, and it certainly did not disappoint.
Moni's is everything you want in an Italian restaurant. It's run by a woman that employees and customers alike refer to as Mama. It feels like a family run Italian joint in the heart of NY more than a place stuck into one of the million wasted stripcenters in DFW. Their food, served in healthy portions, is tasty and affordable. No, not affordable - it's a downright steal.
All meals start off with a huge basket of buttery, bready goodness. Their salads are fantastic as all come with their house dressing. (My former coworker who recommended Moni's once told me her family has convinced Mama to sell them their house dressing in bulk. I thought she was insane, but now realize they were spot on.) My favorite is the Country Salad, which comes loaded with more vegetables than I can eat in one sitting. As for the entrees, I never tasted one I didn't like at Moni's. My favorite was, if I remember the name correctly, Cappellini de Moni's: pasta and vegetables in a tremendous pink sauce.
So let's see: great atmosphere, terrific food, and ridiculously affordable prices. What more could you want?
Oh., I know. Did I mention Moni's is BYOB?
