The Museum of Nature & Science consists of several buildings all located in Fair Park, Dallas. The Nature Building is located at 3535 Grand Avenue, the Science Building is located at 1318 South Second Avenue and the Planetarium Building is located at 1620 First Avenue.
The Museum of Nature and Science is formerly the Dallas Museum of Natural History and the Science Place. Both institutions merged in 2006 and continue to bring life-learning to the community.
Since its founding in 1936, the Dallas Museum of Natural History played a significant role in documenting, describing and showcasing Texas' vast natural diversity. The current collection of over 280,000 specimens includes the world's largest exhibition of Texas wildlife habitats, and the first mounted dinosaur in Texas.
The Science Place was founded in 1946 as the Dallas Health Museum and is one of the oldest science museums in the nation.
