Norma Jean / Haste The Day / The Showdown / MyChildren MyBride / Children 18:3 Granted, you probably have to wear your tight jeans to gain entry to this show, but at least it's for Norma Jean. If you occasionally have the hankering for unbridled screaming set to a beat, this Atlanta quintet is your band. Basically, they're the band all the little screamo kids wish they were. Beware: the teenagers own Deep Ellum tonight. More info

I'm a bit astonished at the bad rap the No Frills got from the previous poster. I've been going there (the original Arlington location) since the doors opened some 10 years ago and absolutely love the place (the fact that I drive over from the far West Side of Fort Worth sort of speaks for itself). Now, while I must admit that I don't have kids and usually only hang out in the (thankfully now NON-SMOKING) bar section with my date or girlfriend, I have NEVER had anything close to a bad experience. The food has always been great, and on the rare occasion when something on my order wasn't right it was fixed immediately upon my request, and even "comped" if the waitress thought that the mistake was unreasonable. The kids I've observed around there seem to be mostly of the soccer or baseball team variety and didn't appear to be any wilder than what you would see in your average "family" restaurant; the No Frills must be doing something right, because the place is always packed and the same customers apparently keep returning over and over again. So that's my "review" for what it's worth, which is about a decade of patronage there.

Just about every experience we've had at this place has been sub-par or horrible, to say the least. The service just plain sucks. Although they have alot of TV's, they show the same thing on most of them and turned off a game we went there to watch.
We took our children there so they could play some games, too (ages 9, 6 and 15 months). Our children seemed to be the only ones with quarters. My 9 year old attempted to play a game of pool with her 6 year old brother and was bullied off the table by the other hoodlum kids who were left to run amok by their unobservant parents. We left when a 5 year old girl pushed my 15 month old son into a machine and caused his face to bleed.
The food leaves much to be desired and we've even gotten food poisoning from this place. I could only imagine what their kitchen looks like since their restrooms are so filthy my children decided to "hold it" until we got home. I've seen cleaner facilities in bus stations.

It is unbelievable that No Frills Grill would call six little onion rings a "side order of onion rings." I have been thinking about taking them a big of onions to help their bottom line.
Love the burgers; but have a big problem with their opinion of what is an order of onion rings. Will not order them again.
