Much further north than this would be the hinterlands, so you feel like a real adventurer getting your seafood out here.
It's clearly in a hotel lobby, but you'll forget once you're inside. The space is reasonable with a too small bar, but tables are reasonably spaced. No real outside windows that aren't covered, but you would just cry for humanity if you looked out there anyway.
Oysters run the table first. A large variety from regions the server cannot pronounce. Almost endearing. All are fresh and tasty, with enough variation to keep from getting boring.
The shellfish platter is another great option if your companions are a little upset by the bivalves.
Main dishes change as the daily availability fluctuates. Going mid week might mean settling for monkfish, so don't be disappointed.
Sides come "for the table" meaning you pay too much for something too large for two and too small for four. We agree this form of supposedly "fun" sharing is really a smart economic choice for the restaurant, and adds little to the experience other than inducing social phobias.
Servers routinely confused our table with the adjacent one on one visit. On another we made a mistake to visit during restaurant week - avoid at all costs during that period!

If you love fresh oysters, this is the place in town to go. Different varieties are available depending on the season. They can be expensive, so if you can, try to go for half-price oysters from 3-6 pm.
Went for my grandfather's birthday. I split two appetizers with my husband for our meal - the Grand Shellfish plate - a huge tower of ice and crab, ousters, shrimp, clams with a variety of dipping sauces and the crab cakes. The grand plate was excellent, everything was chilled without being mushy or soggy. The crab cakes were almost all crab and above average.
We had Baked Alaska for dessert which is kind of neat because you never see it offered very often.
We ordered an assortment of their specialty martinis and loved them all.
Service was attentive and professional.
The only downside it that it can get very loud. I recommend sitting on the second floor. It's a bit more quiet and secluded.

I was a little afraid of the prices here, but let me tell you, it is well worth it. Where else can you get over 20 varieties of fresh oysters from all over the world, and over 25 varieties of fresh fish. Also available : lobster(2 lbs !), clams, mussels, and great crab cakes. The portions are large, the service is great, and you feel as if you are eating in the dining room of an upscale cruise ship. We went for a "tasting dinner", but after review of thier incredible menu, decided against it. There were too many other great items that we wanted to try. If you are seafood lover, and have money to spend, there is no better restaurant in Dallas. Great wine list, too. Located in the Westin Hotel at the Galleria.
