I am sad to say that Palomino's day is over. I used to come here often for work lunches until I moved out of downtown. Maybe it's still a cool place at lunch. My last visit was a Friday night and it was downright depressing. The only people in the restaurant other than myself was two huge tables of teenagers dressed for prom. The service was horribly slow and the food was just ok at best. The pizza was so burnt we had to send it back. Much unlike years before when we left raving about the crab dip appetizer. I would say it was a fluke but on my visit previous to this (also at dinner but during the week), it was equally empty and service, while not bad, was off - the waiter broke the cork off in two bottles of wine before he was able to get one open for us.

Posted from mobile service was a little slow and inattentive, but the food was solid... Including the sole saltimbocca and New York steak, plus the outstanding blue cheese and hazelnut salad. Tonight's dessert was a peach cobbler ... Very nice, although a little less crusty than I prefer.

I think Palomino's isn't a bad choice for a night out. Especially considering its close to the AAC. For a while they were offering a pretty good deal with an appetizer and main course for 20 bucks and free van drop off at the AAC before a Mavs or Stars game.
I like the spinach artichoke dip. Pretty good pizzas too.

We had a great time when we went to Palomino. We all had something different and nobody was disappointed in their choice. I opted for the filet and will say it was a pretty good bang for the buck. Not a terribly extensive wine selection, but you can find something that will complement most any dish you get.

The service was excellent, all the way from being seated through the meal. Look forward to going back again.
