4/5We had a great time when we went to Palomino. We all had something different and nobody was disappointed in their choice. I opted for the filet and will say it was a pretty good bang for the buck. Not a terribly extensive wine selection, but you can find something that will complement most any dish you get.
The service was excellent, all the way from being seated through the meal. Look forward to going back again.

3/5I think Palomino's isn't a bad choice for a night out. Especially considering its close to the AAC. For a while they were offering a pretty good deal with an appetizer and main course for 20 bucks and free van drop off at the AAC before a Mavs or Stars game.
I like the spinach artichoke dip. Pretty good pizzas too.

3/5I am sad to say that Palomino's day is over. I used to come here often for work lunches until I moved out of downtown. Maybe it's still a cool place at lunch. My last visit was a Friday night and it was downright depressing. The only people in the restaurant other than myself was two huge tables of teenagers dressed for prom. The service was horribly slow and the food was just ok at best. The pizza was so burnt we had to send it back. Much unlike years before when we left raving about the crab dip appetizer. I would say it was a fluke but on my visit previous to this (also at dinner but during the week), it was equally empty and service, while not bad, was off - the waiter broke the cork off in two bottles of wine before he was able to get one open for us.

1/5I agree with the reviewer above that Palomino's best days are over. I ate there once or twice back in its heyday several years ago, and was very disappointed when I returned about 6 months ago. I was served the worst paella I have ever eaten. It was expensive, undercooked, and virtually devoid of seafood. Our other food wasn't much better. It is sad when a good restaurant goes bad.

4/5I really enjoyed the food and service here. We started out with the olives and meatballs. The olives were delicious and smothered in a fragrant olive oil and other spices. The meatballs were so soft & juicy and sat on a little plate with a very clean rich tomato sauce.
Dinner I choose the scallops that came on a bed of asparagus risotto. The scallops were seared perfectly and soft on the inside. The risotto was tender and had a creaminess to it that I’ve never experienced.
Besides traditional dinner, the place has a kicking happy hour. They fill up depending on the night, but Wednesdays tend to pull a big crowd because it’s half priced bottle night.
You’ll love the décor inside with its open and exposed kitchen and lots of marble. There are tons of windows so during the day its illuminated with natural light. At night, the fountain in the center of the location is a wonderful walk before continuing your evening elsewhere.
