Agent 99 and I had dinner here last week for our anniversary and it was stellar! The somm. we had recommended an excellent choice from the wine list, which is easily 1/2 inch thick. I had the 39.95 filet and lobster tail (Internet) special which easily blew away anything like it that I had previously had elsewhere. 99 had the NY strip and had enough for lunch the next day. Steaks were cooked exactly as ordered and the prime beef tasted excellent, too. Service was top-notch and not obtrusive.

No idea if they have baked potatoes, but it is easily the best steakhouse in town, and I am not normally a fan of steakhouses.

I've tried most of the top rated steakouts and Pappas is in a class by themselves. The food is exquisitely prepared, presented, practically orgasmic. The wine list takes enology to new levels. I wonder if the younger people I see there know it’s Nat King Cole providing much of the background music?

I’ll have to say that Pappas Brothers is one of the best steak places in the area. I know some people that think the place is overrated, but it deserves at least a mentioning.

There really aren’t any other establishments to write home about near here, located on NW Hwy by the Grand. So it’s somewhat surprising that they do so well given their location. But at least it makes it easy to get in and get out of.

This place has one of the most comprehensive wine books in the metroplex. And yes, I said book, not list. You want to unload a big wad of cash on some good wine? You can definitely do that here. The only drawback was that I don’t particularly remember there being a whole lot of wines in the lower end price range. But then again, if you’re eating here, you’re probably not a lower price range kind of wine drinker.

The steak was outstanding. The service was top notch. If you’re uneasy about the price, give this place a run for its money during Restaurant Week. You’ll be coming back at some point, just make sure you bring plenty of money!
