I know there was the holy !@#$storm that was unleashed when the DMN did their review, but if you click to the right, you can find the link to that story.

With that being said...

For the most part, I think Parlour is a decent bang for your buck. It’s just in an awkward location. It’s not far from the US75/George Bush interchange, but I’ll say it’s kind of hard to corral people into heading up to that area if you’re heading out somewhere else later.

The food is good and overall is a good bang for the buck. They no longer do their Sunday brunch which is one of the main reasons we went. There was definitely some tasty treats that could be had there. On occasion they’ll open for a brunch (i.e. coming up for Easter) but for the most part, brunch is a thing of the past. The steak dish I had doesn’t appear to be on the menu anymore, as it’s constantly evolving.

It’d be nicer if the actual bar area was a bit bigger, but I wouldn’t consider it a major inconvenience. They also have a wine cellar area that’s worth taking a gander at as well. I think the wine is fairly reasonably priced, in relation to the wine bar scene in the area. Of course some wines are priced higher than their average price point, but what place can’t you find that at?

I think justd4 must be a friend of the chef's. I too am a frequent diner at Parlour, but I think I have a more realistic view. It's right around the corner from my house so it's convenient. The food is a bit overpriced. It's a creative menu, but eveything seems to be made with cheap ingredients.. meat with gristle, scallops full of sand, etc. I agree you can get cheap wine there and basically you get what you pay for-- cheap wine. The place is a nice neighborhood hang with a different selection than other local places. Thats about it.

Expensive. I could buy four or five gallons of Gasoline for the price of a glass of wine at this place. Of course, few people know that the chef actually invented a special bar sink for cleaning wine glasses. Amazing. He can really mull a wine too. Just the right number of cloves.

As a frequent diner of Parlour Cafe and Wine Bar, I am unsure of where "jonah" is coming from.

First of all the Chef is amazing!!!!

Not to mention, the Parlour's wine is priced better than most places. At most wine bars these days you could easily pay 20 a glass. Have you been to Cru or Mercy????

Place was almost empty on a Friday night. Food was ok, but not worth the price. Wine was also overpriced. Service was horrendous!
