3/5This place is hot in Uptown right now. The restaurant was a popular '90s eatery that's now reopened and is oozing with trendy people.
We found our food to be fine but not incredible. It's the atmosphere that makes this spot fun, almost so much so that the OK food is dismissible. The calzone of the day (pepperoni, beef meatballs, and cheese on this particular day) was yummy, but not lick-your-plate good. The mac and cheese, which our waitress said was a favorite, was sinfully cheesy and tasted great, but I have to say it doesn't rival the city's best mac&cheese. I'd put The Porch's mac&cheese considerably above this dish, partly because Sfuzzi's mac&cheese contained some noodles that were completely naked and there wasn't enough extra sauce to coat them.
We also tried the summer spaghetti with angel hair instead of spaghetti, at the waitress' suggestion. The dish had little to no flavor and we only ate a few bites.
I'd recommend the "skinny margarita," which tasted like a low-cal margarita but afforded us the ability to order the mac&cheese without guilt. The rest of their cocktail menu was impressive. I'd definitely go back just for a drink, and either sit on their lantern-decorated patio -- gorgeous -- or at their sexy bar inside. The comfortable restaurant beckoned for us to stay for hours, and next time, I just might. Cocktails only.
