This was a great restaurant before being sold earlier this summer. New staff, new chef, none of them seemed to know what they are doing, or cared that they didn't. Menu is not as nice as it used to be either. They have cut back on their choices of entrees. I don't think we will be going back, not unless they rehire the old staff, which I'm sure won't happen. Too bad because it really is a pretty restaurant and a nice location.

Our first time to try Smitty's, we went for their Valentine's Day four course special. We could not have been happier, the food was excellent, the service, just right, helpful, not overly attentive, just right. We even got to speak with the head chef, and he made us feel very welcome to be there. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful, reminds you of an old restaurant from NYC, long and narrow, but very attractive and comfortable. Will we back? You bet, next week to try their Prime Rib. What a gem, no more long drives to Uptown Dallas for us.

I went to Smittys over the weekend and my experience was very good. No problems with the waitstaff and my food was excellent. I was very impressed on the look of the place, it was beautiful!

Smitty's is a wonderful place with GREAT food! We have enjoyed the live entertainment on the weekends too. I have never had any problems with the service nor have our friends. We frequent the place quite often. Not sure what the hell "dirsup" is talking about...it takes time to get the rythym down...Smitty's had only been open less than 1 month when "dirsup" posted. My Gosh give the wait staff a break. Oh well, can't please everyone all of the time.

Did you go to the same restaurant?

Smitty's Roadhouse & Grille in Rockwall is a very beautiful restaurant with GREAT food.
My family and I go to eat there every weekend and sometimes even order food for pick up for dinner during the week. The food is great, the wait staff are very professional and the entire eating experience is better that I could ask for! The restaurant features a deck in the back where you can eat and a park is located behind the restaurant where kids can play after dinner. The deck also has an outdoor fireplace. Very kid friendly! This restaurant is a compliment to Rockwall and it's downtown area, as well!

Don't bother.

The appetizer came with the main course (the waitress just sort of shrugged this off). One of us had to return our meal because it was cold. It took almost 10 minutes to get mayo to the table after we asked. I was with my son, and this was his second time there. His first experience was no better. He will not be back. I will have to think about it long and hard.
