Snappy Salads

Dallas / Preston Forest

5915 Forest Lane

Dallas, TX, 75230

(at the NW corner of Forest & Preston)

Cool, environmentally-conscious salad place at Preston and Forest was founded by Chris Dahlander, a former exec at Brinker Int'l. Everything here is "green" and we're not just talking about the mesclun salad leaves. The paint on the walls is nontoxic, salads are made from organic ingredients whenever possible, and the cutlery and to-go containers are biodegradeable -- made from potato starch, how do you like that?

Straightforward salad place that seems clean and fresh and upscale (as opposed to other straightforward salad places). Chicken caesar was delish -- compares favorably with La Madeleine's, though perhaps a bit less heavy. Soup was tomato bread, which probably would have been better enjoyed without the bread, or perhaps bread on the side instead of in the soup. Will definitely be putting this on my regular lunchtime rotation.
