1/5We visited Star India last Friday, for the first time, hoping for a great Indian food experience. However, we were not impressed at all with the mediocre food, and the price for a lunch buffet on Friday was unreasonable, in our opinion. If that weren't enough, my husband and I BOTH GOT SICK from eating this food. It was the only meal we shared together that day, and it kept us up during the night with a bad 24-hour case of diarrhea and abdominal pains. We are certain that this was not caused from a virus we might have caught elsewhere, because our symptoms and discomfort, etc. happened simultaneously. We will never eat at this place again. A few days later, we both returned to Star India to request a full refund for the lunch buffet that caused us to get sick, and the management/owners refused to even consider our case. They even welcomed a friend, who had just walked into the restaurant, to engage in the discussion about our request for a refund, which we thought was very unprofessional. Star India employees made no attempt to sympathize or address our concerns in a helpful way, but rather demanded we have some proof, like a doctor's note or prescription, before they would think about giving our money back. They also told us that we were supposed to call the next day, if we got sick. Who's ever heard of that rule? Besides, we told them that we live in North Fort Worth and this wouldn't have been convenient to come back any sooner (we returned the Wednesday after.) PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD NOT TO EAT AT STAR INDIA IN ARLINGTON, located on the corner of Cooper and Park Row.

5/5Star India was a favorite lunch spot when I was in college, and when I returned to UTA after a decade away, I was pleased to find that the restaurant hadn't changed a bit in my absence. The food is as good as ever, with a broad range of choices at the buffet and an attentive staff. I've only eaten at the buffet, which was reasonably priced even before my UTA discount, but I hope to come back for dinner one day and let them really shine.

4/5I hadn't eaten at Star India in over a decade, and I decided to check it out yesterday while in Arlington with my boyfriend. I was excited to see that they were still there. We made it in at the end of the lunch buffet. The staff saw me checking my watch as I walked in, and told me to come in and not to worry about the time.
The food was beautiful!
The buffet was plentiful and delicious. My waiter delivered fresh naan to my table after I filled my plate with Chicken Tikka Masala, Kafta Korma, Beef Vindaloo, Chana Masala, and Mutter Mushroom. The flavors were so round and full of spice that every mouthful was a treat.
The atmosphere is quaint. I enjoyed the Bollywood movie playing while we ate our meal. The restaurant is small and older, so some people may walk away unhappy. I think it lends to the authenticity of the restaurant and makes its age an appealing part of the experience.. Everything was very clean! The water glasses are crystal clear. There are no water spots on the silverware or dishes. Even the bathroom gets my seal of approval, and I am VERY picky.
We loved it so much, that we are looking forward to taking my father and daughter there today to see what they think! We eat a lot of Asian cuisines, and this is by far one of the best Indian restaurants I have eaten at. I'll come back and follow up with my report for the sake of consistency.
