Travis, I've posted on that very topic (albeit link-heavy) several times and have a live seminar I occasionally give that touches on reputation management online:

Doug, Jen - look on the bright side! No publicity is bad publicity, right?

Second page of Google results yields a hit on Pegasus...One imagines that a person of more import would not want this kind of thing to happen, especially emanating from their place of business. We have seen when businesses has a listing on a website that provides feedback, that listing can be used as a tool for their betterment, or just make them look really stupid. Does anyone know of an article that outlines this kind of thing for businesses?

I did get a bit shaky at the knees when you not only implied I'm giving this site a bad name, but intellectual while doing it!

Can't you see this man just wants to help the public? I bet he'd willingly come down with bacon lung just to see that you're happy with your Suzuki purchase, sir. And yet...you mock him.

For shame.

I will continue to help people. I love helping people when some dealers have discouraged them. We simply, humbly want to help the public.

Wait, what were y'all getting at?

I was just pointing out how shamelessly open douglasshaw2008 was about his experience at
SUZUKI CARS OF MCKINNEY!

What a bunch of jerks...

Welcome to internets! Don't blame the proprietor - he's a class act. As for the rest of us, well...

Doug, I don't understand how pointing out a lack of transparency is bullying.

You could have said, "I had such a great experience that I came to work here." You didn't.

Your customers could have mentioned, before posting from the same IP address that you posted from just now that you advocated them sharing their stories. They didn't.

You'll find that we have a passionate community of users here and part of their loyalty is because we don't enable shilling here when it isn't transparent. You'll find businessfolk who do that here all the time -- and it's accepted and even celebrated because they are up front about it and contribute more to the community than an anonymous rave posted on the first day they registered. That's why our community pays attention and presumably why you felt it was worth posting here.

If you'd like our help in understanding how to interact openly and transparently and benefit from the type of social marketing that happens organically on sites like ours, contact me directly and I'll be happy to talk to you.

But we have no time for people who want to manipulate and mislead our users. If that wasn't your intent, I'm sorry that you've found our community inhospitable. But the facts here certainly mirror the actions of countless others who have tried to game our site. And that's something we won't allow.

I seem to have attracted attention for buying a car and then coming to work here. I thought I would refer people here to get a good picture of how we are and how we help people. But it seems you guys know it all. I will just sit back and let you spin things how you want to. Mike, I will never refer anyone to this site again. I apologized to my customer this morning for running into your site, into a bunch of high school bullies.

Thanks, Have a wonderful day.

...but wait you haven't met Scott, yet!

So did Doug not warn you he'd poisoned the water here by giving himself a glowing review?

I'm glad the dealership is better than I thought... but tell Doug he threw you to the wolves.

Mike, you have managed to collect 3 of the highest intellect people to give your site a bad name.

Good luck.

This site obviously has no class.

Unlike SUZUKI CARS OF MCKINNEY, right?

Seriously, though, if you had a great experience, do let people know. But if you wait 'til you get home and do it from your computer, we can be reasonably sure that you're not leaving this comment at gunpoint.

I bought a car and was asked to provide an example of my experience here. I dont see anything wrong with them trying to better their image like anyone else. This site seems to be like yahoo chat. Slam em when you can. This site obviously has no class.

Doug, let them leave your office before ranking you, or at least let one of them use your blackberry to do it.

Jenifer and Jarred both were so moved by the quality of service as to join Peg just to extol the virtues of these guys and comment within moments of each other.

Touching, really.

As if to prove the point our users made about the legitimacy of the douglasshaw comment, jennifer and jarred posted their comments from the same IP address which means that "they" are almost certainly on the same computer.

They've also been flagging the other user comments on this page for removal. Ain't gonna happen "y'all."

Thanks.

This is the nicest dealership I went to in the metroplex. I think the people were in tune with what is going on in our society these days. I would send anyone that needs a car to Suzuki of McKinney.

Thanks for a wonderful experience!!

Haha.

Jason, I went to that Yahoo link, and it looks like a "Douglas S." had quite a lot of nice things to say about his...errr..the dealership today in the review section. Especially the management.

Now ScoDo. There are possible thousands of "Doug Shaw"

Really?

Ok, 365 (one for each day of the year)

And the mere coincidence that a Sales Manager may share that name
::I called them and spoke to sales manager “Doug Shaw”

Shouldn't taint your appreciation of a heartfelt testimonial.

Scott. You're just cynical. I'm almost ashamed to know you.

Oh, wait. I really don't. nevermind

I went to Suzuki of Mckinney and was amazed at the selection, then amazed at the quality of treatment and the quality of car that was shown to me. Jason, Tony and David were all helpful in getting my loan pushed through while I waited. I will buy all my cars from them in the future and will recommend anyone with bad credit go see them.
