Swirll is a winery, in downtown Dallas. Swirll makes, ferments, bottles and sells only their wines. Grapes come from vineyards all over the world. You can become a winemaker, too! Featured in the Wall Street Journal, Fortune Magazine and CNN.
At Swirll Winery you can enjoy wines made with grapes from many of the best vineyards all over the world- grapes that are ideally suited to make consistently fine wine. There are about 40 different ones from which to choose. There's something to please every taste. They make all their wine in their beautifully decorated winery in Downtown Dallas. The 1926 Davis Building location has a charming, old-world, Tuscany atmosphere.
- When you arrive at Swirll, they'll take you on a brief tour to see how they make wine.
- You can enjoy Swirll wines by the glass or bottle. They have over 30 different ones from which to choose. There's something to please every taste. A glass is $7.50. Many are available for purchase by the bottle, ranging from $8.95 to $28.95.
- And, if you want more at an even better value, then they invite you to taste their wines and choose your favorite(s). Move into their production area where you'll put on an apron, and they will assist you as you combine the ingredients to start the fermentation process on your own six-gallon batch of the wine you've chosen. A batch yields 28-30 (750ml) bottles. As they explain the whole winemaking process- what the ingredients are, what they do- you'll add and stir.
- Next, your wine will be stored and put through the processes necessary to get it to the point where it’s ready to bottle. That takes 45 days.
- Then you'll come back, put on an apron again, and this time you'll bottle, cork, put foil seals on top, and labels on your wine bottles. You can choose from dozens of colorful labels for all occasions, and they'll personalize them with your name, the name of the wine, year, etc.
Prices for batches range from $219 to $449, depending on the wine you choose. If you get 30 bottles from your batch, that's about $7 to $15 a bottle, depending on the wine you make.
Activities for a group can include:
- A brief tour of the winery.
- Tasting and creating their own personal wine.
- Bottling wine, and creating personalized labels.
- You can enjoy Swirll wines by the glass or bottle.
- They can present wine tasting and food pairing classes on a variety of subjects.

Quite worth going to for refreshing home made wines using imported grapes and verrrrrry little sulfites. Great cheeses are also offered but you go here to 1) drink their wine 2) buy their wine 3) make your OWN wine 4) wine tasting parties and special events 5) Because it's a very professional venue in an unlikely place; downtown Dallas. Easy to enjoy. Try it!
