Nice sports bar, Typical Sports Bar Waitstaff:(ignoring customers) lots of seating, good pool tables, So-So food. Been there on several occassions. Saw Leo Hull's band performing back in June, Great Blues Band, but they have not been back. Also Saw Chris Watson's band another good band and they have not been back. Have seen several questionable bands apparently local and they always come back ??????? Overall Rating:1-10

Terrific Bar! This bar is unigue because it can become a nightclub on the weekends. They have DJ's on the weekend spinning Top-40 and dance music. They have a large dancefloor and the best sound system in Denton, perhaps Dallas. They have pocket billiard tables, which they just had re-felted, wow they play fast! This is the best bar/club in Denton! Don't miss this one; great crowd.

From another Review on a different website Jake Z writes: This place sucks royally...the bartenders are the rudest I've ever seen. The female waitstaff appear to think that they have been hired for thier good looks, but they all look like white trash. THe drinks are watered down, and the food is miserable. THe clientele varies from hip hop heads to little thug wannabe's. This place has a reputation for being a meat market, but it's even worse than that. My girlfriend was repeatedly hit on my sad sad men missing a few teeth. This place is overpriced and disgusting...save your money and go to Hooligan's or the Loophole.

My own thoughts: As a former employee I can tell you this place really does suck! The worst ownership in the bar business. You think you are going to a pool hall/sports bar, but its really a club. This should be their sales pitch. If your a girl and love being pursued sexually by every male in the building, with the opportunity of having something put in your drink or followed home, then this is your place! If your enjoy bars that offer the opportunity to have your wallet or your purse stolen then this is your place! Also, if you love listening to the same Top 40 dance and hip-hop music every weekend at a level that is sure to leave you with hearing problems then this is your place! If you are a bar worker looking for a job and you enjoy an owner who has no idea what he is doing, paranoid everyone is stealing, gets exteremly drunk when he "working", and tries to sleep with all his cocktail servers then this is your place! If you enjoy an owner whose management style is traid mix of Napoleon, Jerry Jones, and Micheal Scott (The Office on NBC)and consistently doesn't have your paycheck ready then this is your place! I feel extremly sorry for anyone who works or has worked there. Save yourself the trouble and stick with the other bars on the square or Fry.

I've been coming to 8 Ball since I moved here last month. This place is cool. A place for grown ups to go. Dento is cool, but most are college bars and that got old real quick. They've had a few bands, two I wasn't crazy about, but the other three I saw were awesome. Weekend specials were great because were I come from they never discounted drinks on Friday or Saturday. Food is ok, except for the pizzas, those are great. All in all, I like this place. Keep on doing what you're doing and I'll keep coming in.
